Why is the belief that these places of worship are the Lord’s house prevalent, when the Bible clearly states they are not? Jesus called the Temple of His day “a house of prayer” (Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, Luke 19:46) because it did not receive the glory of YHWH as the Tabernacle and Solomon’s had. See 1 Kings 8:27, 2 Chronicles 2:6, Isaiah 66:1, Acts 7:48-49, Acts 17:24, and 2 Corinthians 5:1.
The Tabernacle/Temple system was both a teaching tool and a prophecy, demonstrating the levels of separation (increasing holiness) unto the Will and Word and the ultimate outcome for each of us (Christ in you, you in Christ). In the Bible, the word house also symbolize a family (2 Samuel 3:1, 2 Kings 9:9), which is why Yahshua spoke so often about construction and the materials used. Be joyful! He wants all of us to be a part of His family.
Matthew 16:18 And I say also to you, that you are Peter [broken stone or pebble], and on this rock [the revelation that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God] I will build My church [Ecclesia, the ones called unto Him]; and the gates of hades [the grave] shall not prevail against it.
We are now the pebbles that make the Lord’s Temple, built around the foundational stone of Yahshua (Psalm 118:22, Isaiah 8:14-15, Isaiah 28:16, Matthew 21:42, Mark 12:10, Luke 20:17, Acts 4:11, Romans 9:33, 1 Corinthians 3:11, Ephesians 2:19-22, 1 Peter 2:4-8). Therefore, He is the head (1 Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 4:15, Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18, Colossians 2:19), not man (Matthew 23:8-10), for He is the only one Who has the power to move us to the next level of faith (Romans 1:17). Just like the first Apostles, those in the preparatory ministries (Ephesians 4:11) will die, so we have no choice but to mature into our own ministries (Ephesians 4:12) for Him, His Body, and those not yet of His Body (Matthew 28:19, Mark 13:10, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8). Just like a human body, His Body’s cells all have a job to do under His supernatural authority. Seek Yahshua, the Brain, for what He wants you to be and do.
Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My Word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks the rock?”
Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Yes, Father, Your living, active Word delivered through the Holy Spirit sculpts us into the Temple You created, held together by Your Son’s Blood (life) and Your Helper. May You alone get the glory for it. Amen.
