Super Quick Bible Study: Hidden in the Lord’s Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV)
9In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Luke 11:2-4 (NKJV)
2So He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
3Give us day by day our daily bread.
4And forgive us our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.”

In my blog post, Super Quick Bible Study: Hezekiah’s Prayer, I pointed out the need for praise before prayer. I recently realized that the first 2 verses of the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew and the first verse of the prayer in Luke are praises unto the Lord Above.

The final verses in both versions contain requests according to Father Yah’s Will.

Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Psalm 42:4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

Thank You Yahshua once again for following the patterns in Scripture so we can duplicate Your actions.
