The best line in the Evangel that describes the true Sabbath: John 7:23 [Jesus said,] “If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath?” Ooo, can you feel the burn He gave the Pharisees with that? YHWH’s will never rests!
Laughable moment in the Book of Job: Job 8:20 [Bildad said,] “Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers.” WRONG!!!!! Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create evil [affliction, calamity, displeasure, distress]. I YHWH do all these things.
Orthodoxy = spiritual immaturity
Our goodness is His work.
With increasing spiritual maturity comes increasing freedom in Christ. Never assume you have more freedom in His service than what He actually gives you. To assume is religion. Seek His will daily and often.
Am I the only person who eye-rolls at religious pomp being called “beautiful?” Did anyone bother to ask what He thinks of it?
Despite the witness of the Bible, believers tend to overlook spiritually gifted children and very little information is available for parents. The non-believers have plenty… how sad.
“I still kind of hate You.” Is that what we are saying by the sin hidden deep within our minds and hearts?
When James uses the term religion, he does so in a sarcastic way, telling lazy listens to get off their butts and go do something (see Psalm 37:5, Proverbs 3:6, 16:3, 16:9, 19:21, 20:24, Jeremiah 10:23). I have been guilty of this big time. Keep in mind, he does not mean doing good works to merely please the Father, but having the Spirit of Yeshua guide you so His Father’s will is accomplished. Being Spirit-led means He gets the credit (honor, glory). This is why we have “put on Christ” and refresh ourselves in Him daily.
I offer up the children You gave me to You so they will become men of valor worthy enough to serve You. Keep their hearts and minds open to Your Word so Your will shall become theirs. In the eyes of men, they will not be great, but in Yours, oh Father, may they find favor and reward with You. Amen.
