Always Hungry, That Flesh and Eye

Years ago, as I was reading some part of the NT, I realized, “You know what, the flesh is never satisfied. No matter what it gets, it is never enough.” After sharing this with a few people, I placed it aside until I read this line to my children:

Proverbs 27:20 Sheol (the grave) and Abaddon (destruction) are never full, so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

Pausing, I sat straight up. “Whoa, this is in the Bible!” It was one of those times when He reveals, then later shows us in Scripture where it is. I love when that happens. That inspired me to dig up more:

Ecclesiastes 1:8 All things are full of weariness; man cannot express it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

Ecclesiastes 4:8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he has neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither says he, “For whom do I labor, and deprive my soul of good?” This is also vanity, yea, it is a heavy travail.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loves abundance, with increase: this is also vanity.

Ecclesiastes 6:7 All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

Proverbs 30:15-16 The leech has two daughters: Give and Give.
Three things are never satisfied; four never say, “Enough”:
Sheol, the barren womb, the land never satisfied with water,
and the fire that never says, “Enough.”

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

What Is the Eye?

Luke 11:34-35 (Matthew 6:22-23) Your eye is the lamp of the body. When your eye is clear, your whole body is also full of light. But when it is evil, your body is also full of darkness. Make sure, therefore, that the light in you be not darkness.

The symbolism of the flesh means the desires of the body—comfort, food, sex, etc. The soul (personality, life, self) contains three parts—heart (feelings), mind (thoughts), and will (human effort). Whenever our eyes see (or any of our senses perceive) something, both our flesh and soul judge our interest in it and what we should do next. This is the symbolism of the eye, or rather our mind’s eye. Our discernment outside of Yah’s desire (darkness) caters to flesh and soul, leaving our spirit yearning for Him. See Galatians 5:16-17, Romans 7:15, Romans 7:18, Romans 7:23, Romans 8:5, Philippians 3:19.

Notice how well 1 John 2:16 lines up with Genesis 3:6:

lust of the flesh tree was good for food
lust of the eyes it was pleasant to the eyes
pride of life it was to be desired to make one wise

Now compare 1 John 2:16 to the temptations of Jesus:

lust of the flesh turn stones to bread
lust of the eyes worship me for these cities
pride of life hurt yourself; God will always save You

The first part is fleshly, the second, flesh and soul working together, and the last, soulish (Bibles translate the Greek word, psychikon, as natural). Sin only has a foothold over us when self is involved. When you ask Jesus to remove your sin, you must also ask for self to be purged as well. If flesh is on the altar and self is on the cross (take up your cross daily, hate your life), what is left?

Jesus Closed the Cycle

The soul of man is the main battleground of spiritual warfare: our objective, to subjugate flesh and soul under the authority of the spirit through our connection with the Father, the Holy Spirit. How do we clear our mind’s eye so our spirits receive the strength they need? Regeneration, constant renewal (baptism of fire or refinement, repentance, death to self), seeking Him and doing what He told each of us to do.

After Jesus’ proselyte immersion (mikvah), His delighted Father drenched Him in His Holy Spirit (regeneration) and sent His Son into the wilderness to fast (constant renewal) and fellowship (seek and do His Will) for forty days. All these things brought Jesus to weakened flesh and soul, yet a Spirit strong in His Father, so He could overcome the Adversary. What Adam (flesh) and Eve (soul) started, Jesus (Spirit, the Word profaned in flesh and soul for us) ended, showing us throughout the Evangel how we can become like Him.

Another example, a vessel of His is told to pour the Spirit of Jesus he or she has upon another (His Will), then the vessel can receive a fresh amount (or a larger amount depending on maturity) of His Spirit for the next “pouring” (renewal). This “pouring out” is what Jesus meant when the woman with the issue of blood touched Him in faith, causing the Spirit’s power to leave Him. Why do you think He went off alone to pray? To be refilled!

Little Broken Stones

Why is the belief that these places of worship are the Lord’s house prevalent, when the Bible clearly states they are not? Jesus called the Temple of His day “a house of prayer” (Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, Luke 19:46) because it did not receive the glory of YHWH as the Tabernacle and Solomon’s had. See 1 Kings 8:27, 2 Chronicles 2:6, Isaiah 66:1, Acts 7:48-49, Acts 17:24, and 2 Corinthians 5:1.

The Tabernacle/Temple system was both a teaching tool and a prophecy, demonstrating the levels of separation (increasing holiness) unto the Will and Word and the ultimate outcome for each of us (Christ in you, you in Christ). In the Bible, the word house also symbolize a family (2 Samuel 3:1, 2 Kings 9:9), which is why Yahshua spoke so often about construction and the materials used. Be joyful! He wants all of us to be a part of His family.

Matthew 16:18 And I say also to you, that you are Peter [broken stone or pebble], and on this rock [the revelation that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God] I will build My church [Ecclesia, the ones called unto Him]; and the gates of hades [the grave] shall not prevail against it.

We are now the pebbles that make the Lord’s Temple, built around the foundational stone of Yahshua (Psalm 118:22, Isaiah 8:14-15, Isaiah 28:16, Matthew 21:42, Mark 12:10, Luke 20:17, Acts 4:11, Romans 9:33, 1 Corinthians 3:11, Ephesians 2:19-22, 1 Peter 2:4-8). Therefore, He is the head (1 Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 4:15, Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18, Colossians 2:19), not man (Matthew 23:8-10), for He is the only one Who has the power to move us to the next level of faith (Romans 1:17). Just like the first Apostles, those in the preparatory ministries (Ephesians 4:11) will die, so we have no choice but to mature into our own ministries (Ephesians 4:12) for Him, His Body, and those not yet of His Body (Matthew 28:19, Mark 13:10, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8). Just like a human body, His Body’s cells all have a job to do under His supernatural authority. Seek Yahshua, the Brain, for what He wants you to be and do.

Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My Word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks the rock?”

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Yes, Father, Your living, active Word delivered through the Holy Spirit sculpts us into the Temple You created, held together by Your Son’s Blood (life) and Your Helper. May You alone get the glory for it. Amen.

Puzzling Passages Made Plain: Showbread and Wheat Heads

For some reason, the passages about David eating the showbread (1 Samuel 21:1-6)and Jesus’ disciples plucking wheat on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1-7, Mark 2:23-27, Luke 6:1-5) kept winding up in recent posts. This seemed like a strong hint I needed to pause and wait for the meanings to hit me. Oh, yeah… a rushing river of words washed through my mind, and I struggled to keep up with Him. I pray you enjoy this as much as I did “hearing” it.

Letter vs. Spirit

What was that priest thinking, giving David and his men the bread of the Presence of YHWH? Did abstaining from sexual relation really make them holy? While abstinence was a requirement before going to war (Exodus 19:15), it did not allow David to persist in that request. The Levites collected and doled out the third tithe, which assisted the poor and needy; this act was an extension of that behavior.

Doesn’t Scripture say, “I desire obedience (to My Will and Word), not sacrifice (either ritual or common procedure)”? Yes, but it also says, “I desire mercy (My heart’s desire), not sacrifice.” We need mercy, which is our opportunity to please Him though we do not deserve it. Who knows what could have happened if the priest would have turned David down? Perhaps some of the men, mad with hunger, would have ransacked the Temple, defiling everything and breaking Torah. Though fearful, this priest understood the spirit of the Law (mercy) was greater than the letter of the Law (the shadow or teaching example). Yahshua reinforced this behavior in His parable about the Good Samaritan.

The letter of the Law is the best attempt men can do to satisfy Yah’s basic requirements. However, the spirit of the Law shines His Desire through the spirit of man. Paul clarified this distinction in several ways: 1) the inner (spirit) man and outer (fleshly) man [Romans 7:22, 2 Corinthians 4:16, Ephesians 3:16], 2) the inward and outward Jew [Romans 2:12-29], and 3) Jew and Gentile becoming one in Christ [Galatians 3:28, Ephesians 2:11-21]. Since we are now grafted in [Romans 11:11-24], we follow (copy, seek and obey) the Spirit of the Law, which is Christ.

His Presence in the Bread

As with all of Scripture, this tale holds a deeper meaning pointing towards Christ. How did the showbread become lawful for David and his band to eat? Easy… when David took it from the Temple, it became common. Yahshua, the Living Bread of His Presence, came in common flesh, profaning Himself to rescue us. Peter broke bread with Gentiles, something forbidden to Jews, in order to deliver the Word’s Good News. Whether we deal with people or things, the physical realm is only holy or profane when and for however long He says.

The showbread, as stated earlier, represented the Word, the Manna that nurtures the spirit of those who eat it—the fruit (results of His instruction) of the tree of life. Giving David and his men the bread foreshadowed Yah giving His Son, the Bread of Life. His flesh (His Word, Taught) sustains our spirits within and makes the Blood (His works, His soul) that flows through all believers.

A Deeper Message

In essence, Yahshua used the showbread tale to tell the Pharisees, “Look, you are nitpicking over the letter of the Law, although the Law states we are permitted to eat on the Sabbath. The priest back then took what was holy (the Word from the Will) and made it profane (the Word made flesh, the Word spoken through men), so David and his men (those hungry for the Will and the Word, spirit and life) could eat.

“The Word of God, who is the Lord of the Sabbath, dictates how the Sabbath should be followed, not men’s assumptions or traditions. The Will and the Word wanted you to learn how to rest from your own works and embrace Our work for you.”

Another gem was hidden in the actions of His disciples. When they picked the wheat and rolled off the chaff between their hands, that symbolized those chosen of God to cause what was once profane to the Body edible. This meant dropping our will (removing the chaff) to receive and deliver the Word (the exposed grains) spirit-to-spirit (eating the grains). As Yahshua said, “My food is to do the Will of the Father.”

Notice that they ate fresh, raw wheat. The raw wheat is the Fresh Agreement (New Testament), announcing the fulfillment the prophetic wish of Moses [Numbers 11:29]. We were promised a new heart (soul, life) with His Law (His Will) written on it, therefore we need new food (the Word given and understood within) to feed it.

Lovely Strings of Pearls

1. Death (the plucking of the wheat heads) – death to sin (self) – deny yourselves – removing ourselves from the world, yet still in it – justification.

2. Burial (the rubbing the wheat between the hands) – Sheol (the grave) is made of dirt and so are our hands (His actions through us) – to remove the chaff, which is the outer man, the outward Jew – take up your cross – salvation is a process.

3. Resurrection (the new grain) – alive in Christ – regeneration and renewal – the spirit man, the inward Jew revealed – follow Him (do as He does and say) – the promise of glorification.

4. Ascension (eating the grain) – eating His flesh (the Word’s nurturing instructions and promises of the future) – “I go to prepare a place for you.” – Yahshua, the Spirit of His Voice, had to leave the physical plane so that both the Spirit of the Will and the Spirit of the Voice could reign in the hearts of believers through the Holy Spirit. “We are Christ’s ambassadors [of His nation (Kingdom), pieces of the spirit realm]…” [2 Corinthians 5:20, Ephesians 6:20] – According to Scripture, this is the highest level those in the physical can achieve.

In conclusion, both of these incidents teach us Who is in control of how and when His Desire is accomplished, demonstrating His dominance over His Voice, the Word.

Soaking – A Rant

The new religious practice of “soaking in the Spirit” has turned a part of being Spirit-led into a ritual. There is no set procedure for being before the Lord, only guidelines laid out in Scripture. Why must every move of the Holy Spirit be labeled, quantified, and institutionalized?

You cannot force His hand to your desire to be in His presence—that is something only He initiates. Do you want a quiet fellowship with Him? Simple, ask Him to wake you up between 3-6 in the AM. No distractions then, peaceful, silent and no music needed to get you in the mood. He has done that with me, but He started it; I despise being up that early.

No one needs to empty his or her mind to hear Him. I “heard” Him loud and clear when He pressed the words for this rant into me. My mind was elsewhere when the sentences hit.

Have You Been Anointed?

Without the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you have no God-given authority or spiritual power.

What does the immersion feel like? When it happened to me, it was like liquid electricity flowing through the top of my head. The speaking in tongues occurred a second or two later [which can be an unknown language, a foreign one, or just words of praise in plain ole English (my experience)].

He called me out in 1998, dipped in water in 1999, but I received the immersion of the Spirit in 2009… proof there is always hope.

Mile Markers towards Maturity

Here are a few indicators. If you know of more, please list below. Your results may vary.

1. When one reaches a certain point, Bible reading and study can become meaningless for long stretches of time. Relax… This is when He wants to instruct you Himself. Let Him give you the knowledge and wisdom needed to get His Will done.

2. One day, certain Bible passages’ meanings become clearer without the intervention of anyone but the Spirit of Christ.

3. You don’t even think about blessings and promises, because you are too busy seeking and performing His supernatural direction, no matter what evil befalls you.

4. When you notice little things out of the ordinary that He does without being superstitious about (or dependent upon) them.

5. Whenever you have a moment in the middle of speaking, working, writing, etc., and you realize that the Spirit of the Lord has taken over. Recognizing this is a privilege for believers only.

6. While reading Scripture or observing His handiwork, you recognize the Father’s sense of humor and sarcasm.

7. Understand that anything, either a thought or idea, or anyone, including someone admired or honored, can become an idol.

8. When you sin or disobey a direct order, you do not get hung up on it. You learn from what happened, get clean, and move on. The fear of YHWH does not involve guilt or worry, but respect and longing to please the One Who created you and called you unto Himself. See 2 Samuel 6:9, Isaiah 6:5-8, Luke 5:1-11.

9. You no longer wonder if Yah cares about you because you recognize and take joy in His work through and around you, good and bad.

10. Celebrate freedom from the constant influence of the flesh and world, yet understanding you are His slave.

11. There is no such thing as “free will” under Christ’s blood (see the Law of the Kinsman Redeemer), which gives the glory (honor) of salvation to men. What we do have are what I call “moments of choice.” These moments serve two main functions: 1) to help us see our progress on the Way, and 2) realize how much we need Him. Remember, the covering of grace affords us the chance to learn what He wants. Even Christ Himself learned under grace (Luke 2:40).

12. Discernment sharpens to the point of finding God’s needle in a man-made haystack and move on. Sometimes the needle will find you—ouch—but that is a part of refinement.

13. Acknowledge our Father’s work in us and His Son in our actions.

14. Understanding how Torah operates in Spirit and truth.

15. Knowing when His Spirit inspires you to speak and when to stay quiet.

16. Noticing our Savior’s within others, including nonbelievers.

17. Embrace correction and ask for confirmation to be sure it is from Him.

18. Receive revelation directly from Him.

19. Able to follow His supernatural instructions even when they make no sense, seem weird or contrary. Sometimes it is not about the result, but the process of obedience. For example, being told to give money to a ministry you know teaches lies. This does not mean He condones that ministry, but He wants you simply to obey. Who knows? He may use the money to help one of the brethren still in there.

20. You will know when to move on, whether it is from a pastor, teacher, false or pointless doctrine, family member, friend, etc.

21. Understand the difference between lifestyle and being Spirit-led. At the start of our walk, changes in how we conduct ourselves are going to happen. The move from one step on the path to the next should lead us to greater dependence upon His Comforter and less on human effort or rules. Since each part of His Body has a different function (just like our natural bodies), our unity must come from operating in Spirit (the blood of Christ – His life flowing through all parts) and in truth (the brain – the head, which is Christ).

22. Rejoice in His brilliance, not just His works.

23. Permission to enter His Throne Room to worship and listen at His feet.

24. When an incident (or a recurring one) caused you learn or purge something from you and later you read about it in Scripture.

25. Moving from a spiritual child to a young (wo)man, and finally a father (adult). These are listed in 1 John 2:12-14.

The Personas of God

I do not care about the Trinity doctrine or if people either accept or reject it. The most important thing is understanding the roles our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit play.

Always Existed

Our Father Creator is both the Will and Word of God. His supernatural will is always active, but His Word, which is subject to His Desire, is only given when needed. His Desire is abstract, yet orderly, meaning His creativity is for a purpose that His Word reveals when His Desire wants. Also, this means He alone gets to dictate how He wants His Desire followed. For example, David and his men ate the priests’ showbread, which was forbidden to them by Torah. Jesus later reminded the Pharisees of this when they complained of His disciples picking heads of grain to eat on the Sabbath.

Spoken into Existence

The First-begotten of all creation is His Word—the Will delivered and demonstrated—as a teaching model for living souls. His appearances cover the entire Bible because His Father’s full presence can destroy us. Who delivered to Abraham the good news about having a son with Sarah? Who ate a fellowship meal with Moses and the elders on Mt. Sinai? The Word is subject to His Father as we are to the Word.

John 1:3 Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.

1 Corinthians 8:6 …yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist.

Colossians 1:16 For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Hebrews 1:2 But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.

Notice, the Creator could have willed the current creation into existence, but decided to speak it instead. When He spoke, the Son, the Spirit of His Voice came into existence. Why? To give His Son authority over all creation by creating His Voice, one of the breaths of God (the other breath brings life). In other words, He wants to order His creation through His creation (the Word, who later became flesh, and then later those steeped in His Holy Spirit).

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is a word without God—deciding for oneself what is good or bad and how these self-defined concepts apply towards what one considers important. If men themselves determine what is good or evil, then God’s Word becomes ineffective. In that paradigm, there is no sin or truth. Everyone, being right in their own eyes, will clash with others, therefore the fruit (results) leads to corruption and death.

The Penetrating Conduit

The Spirit He sent to set us apart is His means of injecting His Will and Word directly into our spirits. While His Spirit guides all flesh, the baptism of (or, more accurately, drenching from) the Holy Spirit allow us to witness His Desires in action and hear His Word in many different ways. This is the “one baptism” the Apostle Paul listed in Ephesians 4:5 and why it was mentioned repeatedly in the New Testament [Matthew 3:11, Luke 3:16, Mark 1:8, John 1:33, Acts 1:5, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 4:31, Acts 8:15-17, Acts 19:1-7]. Two of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are speaking in tongue and prophecy, which had happened at the same time in the Tanahk (to prophesy also meant to speak in ecstasy) [Numbers 11:16-30, 1 Samuel 10:5-6].

Proverbs 8:22-31
[Wisdom said,] “YHWH possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.
I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.
When there were no depths I was brought forth,
When there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills, I was brought forth.
While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields,
Or the primal dust of the world.

When He prepared the heavens, I was there,
When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
When He established the clouds above,
When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
When He assigned to the sea its limit,
So that the waters would not transgress His command,
When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,
Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men.

Who is Wisdom? A manifestation of His Most Holy Spirit, I believe, since He gives us wisdom as a gift [1 Corinthians 12:8, 1 Thessalonians 1:5].

When His Will is upon us, the Holy Spirit becomes the Spirit of God. When He delivers His Word, He is the Spirit of Jesus (Christ). The Word through the Spirit given to men for men is the Spirit of Prophecy. The drenching links us to the Father, giving us comfort in times of trials, when we recognize His Will and Word working in unison.

The Holy Spirit does nothing outside of our Father and His Son. He gives glory to them both by performing His duties. Nowhere in Scripture does it say we are to pray to the Spirit, but we can thank YHWH and His Son for sending the Spirit’s power. This is why the Pharisees’ condemnation of that spiritual power at work angered Jesus so much. How could anyone put down a part of His Father simply doing His good Will?

Update: Someone else received the same revelation about Yeshua that I did.

Puzzling Passages Made Plain: Untwisting the Christian Holiday Excuse

Colossians 2:16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.

One of the most misunderstood passages in Scripture. It has nothing to do with Christian holidays, nor were any ordained. Here are some articles to clear up the mistake:

Does Paul Do Away With the Sabbath and Holy Days?

What Did Paul Really Say in Colossians 2:16?

Would you please explain the meaning of Colossians 2:16-17?

Others can argue whether or not to keep the ancient Hebrew customs; He has thwarted my attempts of doing them, and I became Spirit-led. He later taught me about following Torah spiritually. For example, Torah taught that those who could afford it should tithe several times a year. Jesus dismissed the Jewish leaders’ detailed yet heartless tithing process (Matthew 23:23, Luke 11:42) and told His disciples to give alms (Matthew 6:1-4, Luke 11:41, Luke 12:33). To give without some set amount is taught throughout the NT (Acts 11:29, Acts 24:17, Romans 15:26, 2 Corinthians 9:7), not the tithe, which is of Torah (even the Jews today do not tithe). This is much harder because it involves understanding how Torah was applied and following Christ alone. To completely cover it would take volumes of books! Thank the Father we have the Holy Spirit to guide us.

Torah Is Christ’s Shadow

Colossians 2:17 (literal translation) …which are the shadow of things coming, but the Body of Christ.

Getting rid of the translator’s taint, we can see that Colossians 2:16-17 is talking about Jewish practices and those practices foreshadowing Christ in us and us in Christ. In short, Gentiles, don’t worry about the practices; become His Body (spirit-led).

Some religions teach we are to have part of ourselves in Christ and part in Torah; others say Christ is Torah. The problem with both views is that God stated in the Old and New Testament He wanted His Law written directly into the hearts of men. This can only happen on the spiritual, not physical, level, since He also declared men’s hearts wicked (Jeremiah 17:9, Matthew 13:15) and that we needed a heart transplant (Jeremiah 24:7, Jeremiah 32:39, Ezekiel 11:19, Ezekiel 36:26). Torah taught us we cannot fulfill it perfectly without His direct intervention, therefore He gets to dictate how and when He wants each of us to follow it. How many times have you read throughout Scripture where He supposedly broke the Law?

Now, do you want to live in Christ and Christ in you as the Father shines upon you both, or do you want to stay under a shadow, whether Christ’s or a man-made one?

Thought Splatters (Slosh!)

Degrees, writings, lectures, awards, popularity…none of that impresses me. Sit me before someone who is Spirit-led and goads others to be Spirit-led, then you will have my undivided attention.

If I have a choice between obeying either man or our Father, my Father’s desire rules all. If He tells me to break man’s law, then man’s law is forfeit.

I am not and never was a Protestant; He raised me to be a “spiritual virgin,” untainted by the religions of men. Like the disciples, true believers will come out of these churches and form the New Temple under His DIRECT instruction (follow the Lamb wherever He goes). His Body is a living organism; each part has a job to do by HIS DIRECTION, which is supernatural, not the good works of men’s minds.

The comprehension of what Yahshua’s taught is the key of David (authority with spiritual power) that binds and loosens (disallow and allow) what goes on in heaven (the spirit realm) and earth (the physical realm).

Did you know that Joshua in the Tanakh had a name change [Numbers 13:16]? His original name was Hosea, which means salvation, safety, or deliverance, while his new name was actually Jesus’ name, Yahshua, which means God saves (or rescues). I will have to revisit this when the Father shines more light on the subject.

When the Israelites examined an animal for sacrifice, they only could find the visible defects. This act symbolized two things: only God knew of the defects inside the animal (you and me) and our human effort (outside the Spirit) will never have that type of ability.

One of the greatest trials a believer faces is maintaining true servitude and discipleship during times of prosperity. Without His spiritual guidance, it cannot be done.

Remember the WWJD fad? So what would Jesus do? Easy, He consulted the Father!

If we burn the flesh on the altar and nail the will of the soul on the cross, what is left?

He Is the Glue

Colossians 1:15-17 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation. 16 For by [or in] Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Since Jesus was created before the creation and worked on the creation with His Father, He has preeminence over how the Law then and God’s desire today are to be followed. An example of this is found in Mark 2:23-28, where He declared Himself Lord of the Sabbath. This means we cannot rely solely on the Bible, but the Spirit of Christ to know what He wants each member of His Body to do or understand. Remember, the majority of believers back then could not read; they had no choice but to trust the Spirit’s guidance. Do we think ourselves better than they because we have a book we can take up at any time? Given the fact that all Biblical translations are very faulty, we must avoid making that soulish mistake.

Yah said He rested on the seventh day, but what kind of rest was it? According to Colossians 1:17, He holds everything together, so if He did a complete rest, the creation would fall apart. No, His rest was from creating because His will, His desire, NEVER RESTS. This is what Jesus meant when He said in John 5:17, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” The Lord of the Sabbath had to rest permanently from His own works and do His Father’s will. If we are being refined into His image, should we not do the same? Shouldn’t we ask Him what we are supposed to be doing?
