Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 7 – Ezekiel, Section 1

1:4 “Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.”
Exodus 3:2 “And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.”

Exodus 13:21 “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.”

Exodus 14:2425 “Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians. And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, ‘Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.’”

1 Kings 19:1112 “Then He said, ‘Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.’ And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.”

2 Kings 2:11-12 “Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, ‘My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!’”

2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Revelation 10:1 “I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.”

1:7 “Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves’ feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze.”

Revelation 1:15 “His feet were like fine bronze, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters…”

Daniel 10:6 “His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude.” Also see Revelation 2:18 and 40:3.

Leviticus 11:3 “Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud—that you may eat.” Also see Leviticus 11:26 and Deuteronomy 14:6. There is something symbolic here, not sure what.

1:9 “Their wings touched [joined] one another. They did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward.”
1:11 “Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies.”
1:23 “And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body.”
Isaiah 6:2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
Revelation 4:8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”

Exodus 25:18-20 “And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover.”

Exodus 37:7-8 “He made two cherubim of beaten gold; he made them of one piece at the two ends of the mercy seat: one cherub at one end on this side, and the other cherub at the other end on that side. He made the cherubim at the two ends of one piece with the mercy seat.”

2 Chronicles 3:1112 “The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits in overall length: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub; one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing also was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.

1:10 “As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.”
10:14 “Each of the cherubim had four faces: the first face was that of a cherub, the second that of a man, the third that of a lion, and the fourth that of an eagle.”
Revelation 4:7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second like a calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.

1:18 “As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them.”
10:12 “And their whole body, with their back, their hands, their wings, and the wheels that the four had, were full of eyes all around.”
Zechariah 3:9 “For behold, the stone That I have laid before Joshua: Upon the stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave its inscription,” says the Lord of hosts, “And I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.”

Zechariah 4:10 “For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the Lord, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.”
Revelation 5:6 “And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.”

Proverbs 15:3 “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” Also see 2 Chronicles 16:9, Job 28:24, Job 31:4, Job 34:21, Proverbs 5:21, Psalm 33:13, Jeremiah 16:17, Jeremiah 23:24, Jeremiah 32:19, Hebrews 4:13.

1:26-28 “And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.”

2 Samuel 22:11 and Psalm 18:10 “And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind.”

Psalm 68:4 “Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name YAH, And rejoice before Him.”

Psalm 68:33 “…to Him who rides upon the highest heavens of old; behold, His mighty voice resounds.”

Psalm 68:34 “Ascribe strength to God; His excellence is over Israel, And His strength is in the clouds.”

Psalm 104:3 “…laying the beams of His chambers in the waters above, making the clouds His chariot, walking on the wings of the wind.”

Isaiah 19:1 “Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud…”

Deuteronomy 33:26There is no one like the God of Jeshurun [Israel], Who rides the heavens to help you, and in His excellency on the clouds.”

Revelation 4:3 “And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius [carnelian] stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.”

2:2 “Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me.”
3:24 “Then the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and spoke with me and said to me: “Go, shut yourself inside your house.”
Daniel 8:18 Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched me, and stood me upright.

Daniel 10:10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands.

Revelation 1:17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.”

Numbers 11:25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to [Moses], and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again.

– “…whether they hear or whether they refuse…” is said twice in this chapter, 2:5, 2:7 and once in 3:11. When something is mentioned twice or more, this demonstrates its importance. In this case, prophets warned the people repeatedly about the consequences of their behavior and chose not to correct themselves. See Luke 11:49, 2 Chronicles 24:19, 2 Chronicles 33:10, 2 Chronicles 36:15, Jeremiah 7:13, Jeremiah 7:25, Jeremiah 11:7, Jeremiah 25:3, Jeremiah 25:4, Jeremiah 26:5, Jeremiah 29:19. They could never say they had lacked knowledge… and neither can we.

Job 33:14 “For God may speak in one way, or [and] in another, Yet man does not perceive it.”

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me. Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”

Isaiah 5:13 Therefore my people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

2:5 and 33:33 “…they will know that a prophet has been among them.”

Deuteronomy 18:22 “…when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”
1 Kings 22:28 But Micaiah said, “If you [Ahab] ever return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.”
Jeremiah 28:9 “As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent.”

2:6 “And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”
Revelation 9:3 “Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”
Revelation 9:5 “And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man.”
Revelation 9:10 They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.

2 Chronicles 10:14 and 1 Kings 12:11 “…and [Rehoboam] spoke to them according to the advice of the young men, saying, ‘My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it; my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scourges [scorpions]!’”

Deuteronomy 8:15 “…Who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; Who brought water for you out of the flinty rock…”

Numbers 21:6 “So the Lord sent fiery [venomous] serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.”

Psalm 58:4 [The wicked’s] poison [venom, wrath] is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear…”

Matthew 3:7 and Luke 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”

Also see Deuteronomy 32:33, Psalm 91:13, Psalm 140:3, Ecclesiastes 10:11, Matthew 12:34, Matthew 23:33, Mark 16:18, Luke 10:19, Acts 28:3-6, Romans 3:13.

3:6 “…not to many people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you.”
Jonah 3:5 “So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.”
Matthew 12:41 and Luke 11:32 “The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.”

Matthew 12:42 “The queen of the South [Sheba] will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.”

Acts 28:28 “Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!”

Pharaoh had listened to Joseph and, by receiving the wisdom from the Creator, made the latter second in command over Egypt. Nebuchadnezzar had recognized Daniel’s God as the true God and gave Him honor.

3:8 “Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads.” Tons of passages about the Lord strengthening us when the time is right.

3:20a Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die.”
18:24 “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.”

3:20b Because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.”
Habakkuk 2:1 “I will stand my watch and set myself on the tower, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.”

4:14 So I said, “Ah, Lord God! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now…” Acts 10:14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”

– It is like they expected God to act like the false gods, to leave the people alone after being appeased and/or bless them by minor service to Him without true obedience from the heart.

– No miracles for Ezekiel, just words, acts, and visions, but he did predict the final siege of Jerusalem.

7:10 “Behold, the day! Behold, it has come! Doom has gone out. The rod has blossomed. Pride has budded.”
Aaron’s rod had budded (Numbers 17:8, Hebrews 9:4), marking him (the tribe of Levi, the priest class) and Moses as the spiritual and governmental leaders, respectively. In the time of Ezekiel, the people are ruled by pride and broke covenant. Therefore, judgment (correction) came and nothing stopped it. Also see Psalm 89:32, Isaiah 10:5, Job 9:34, Job 21:9, Proverbs 19:25, Proverbs 20:30, Proverbs 22:15, Proverbs 27:6.

7:19They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be like refuse; Their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord; They will not satisfy their souls, nor fill their stomachs, because it became their stumbling block of iniquity.”

I thought the highlighted part was from Revelation until recently.

Lamentations 4:1 “How the gold has become dim! How changed the fine gold! The stones of the sanctuary are scattered at the head of every street.”

Zephaniah 1:18 “Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy, for He will make speedy riddance of all those who dwell in the land.”

Isaiah 2:20 “In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which they made, each for himself to worship, to the moles and bats…”

Isaiah 30:22 “You will also defile the covering of your images of silver, and the ornament of your molded images of gold. You will throw them away as an unclean thing; you will say to them, ‘Get away!’”

Proverbs 11:4 “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.”

Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money].”

7:24 “Therefore I will bring the worst of the Gentiles, and they will possess their houses…”
Deuteronomy 6:10-11 “So it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, houses full of all good things, which you did not fill…” A curse is a blessing reversed under a covenant. Also see Deuteronomy 19:1, Joshua 24:13, Nehemiah 9:25, Psalm 78:55, Psalm 105:44.

7:25 “Destruction comes. They will seek peace, but there shall be none.”
13:10 “Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace—”
13:16 “…that is, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’” says the Lord God.
1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
Also see
Isaiah 48:22, Isaiah 57:21, Jeremiah 6:14, Jeremiah 8:11, Jeremiah 14:13, Jeremiah 23:17.

8:1 “…as I was sitting in my house with the elders of Judah sitting before me, that the hand of the Lord God fell upon me there.” Ezekiel had a vision right in front of people. I wonder what they had saw and thought.

8:6 Furthermore He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.”
5:11 “Therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; My eye will not spare, nor will I have any pity.”

I have a theory. Since the Father restricts Himself on how He will operate with us, which is dependent upon our behavior towards His holiness, I believe the billions upon the Earth right now who do not know Him are a hindrance to His full working (glory), compared to ancient times. The formation of the institutional church system in 313, removing the legal spiritual authority from the homes of believers, also played a role in the scant amount of Our Father’s supernatural works today.

– The title the Lord God [Adonay YHWH (אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִה֒)] is used mostly in Ezekiel, compared to other books.

– The two worst sins, according to what I see in Scripture, are worshiping other beings and treating the helpless badly.

8:10 “So I went in and saw, and there—every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed all around on the [Temple] walls.” Archaeologists have found evidence of Israel and Judah worshiping other beings.

8:16 “So He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.” One of the reasons Yah had them enter the Tabernacle/Temple from the east was to discourage sun worship. What an insult!

8:17 “…Indeed they put the branch to their nose.” Bishop K. C. Pillai compared this practice to people wearing crosses to either ward off evil or maintain God’s favor.

9:34 Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, where it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn at his side; and the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”

Plenty of Scriptures about being mark by Yah: John 3:33, John 6:27, Romans 4:11 (Genesis 17:10), 2 Corinthians 1:22, Galatians 6:17, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Timothy 2:19, Revelation 7:3, Revelation 9:4, Revelation 3:12, Revelation 14:1, Revelation 22:4.

By His Stripes

By His stripes, we are healed.
By His stripes, we are saved.
By His stripes, we have a chance
to embrace the One Who made us.

By His stripes, we are covered.
By His stripes, we are redeemed.
By His stripes, we are rescued
from destruction we rightly deserve.

By His stripes, we are loved.
By His stripes, we are wanted.
By His stripes, we celebrate
His resurrection from death and ours.

Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 6 – Jeremiah, Section 3 plus Lamentations

23:33 “So when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying, ‘What is the oracle [burden] of the Lord?’ you shall then say to them, ‘What oracle [burden]?’ I will even forsake you,” says the Lord.

The Hebrew word massa’ (מַשָּׂא), mostly translated burden, load, or tribute, is derived from the verb nasa’ (נָשָׂא) meaning to lift, carry, take. The KJV and the BSB got this one right, keeping it burden, because having to declare punitive outcomes for His people breaking covenant with Him is a burden for Our merciful God.

Jeremiah 24 – The Sign of Two Baskets of Figs. This reminds me of Jesus cursing the fig tree (Matthew 21:12-22, Mark 11:12-25), which, I believe, symbolizes Jerusalem and the Temple.

24:7 “Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” Also see Psalm 51:10, Ezekiel 11:19, Ezekiel 36:26, Ezekiel 18:3, 2 Corinthians 3:3, Deuteronomy 30:6, 2 Chronicles 30:12.

25:9 and 27:7 “…Nebuchadnezzar…My servant…” Anyone, believer or not, can be used of Yah. Pay attention and know the works of Elohim.

25:33 “They shall not be lamented, or gathered, or buried; they shall become refuse [dung, offal] on the ground.” See 8:2, 9:22, 16:4, Psalm 53:5, Psalm 79:3, Psalm 83:10, Isaiah 5:25, Isaiah 34:3, 2 Kings 9:37, 2 Kings 23:5.

Matthew 24:28 and Luke 17:37 “For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles [vultures] will be gathered together.” Also see Job 39:30, Ezekiel 39:17, Habakkuk 1:8.

26:20-24 Urijah prophesied as Jeremiah did, but when his life was threatened, he escaped to Egypt [big mistake, we are not to trust Egypt (the world, the physical)]. He was caught and dragged back to the king, who slew the prophet with a sword. Jeremiah stayed under the protection of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, a royal scribe. This incident reminds me of the prophet who disobeyed the Lord by believing another prophet’s words without checking with the Lord and was mauled to death by a lion (1 Kings 13). We have to practice seeking the Lord in everything, no matter how small.

– The result of the false prophet Hananiah’s behavior (28) is similar to Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11)—dying from a lie.

– Jeremiah’s prophecies in a nutshell: y’all did wrong on so many levels that the homeland is polluted; you will either die or go to Babylon; quit lying on Me; y’all couldn’t even keep the Shabbots; your enemies will be punished for punishing you too much; you will be restored to the land many years later (after most of your rebellious generation dies off as your ancestors in the wilderness did).

Chapter 29 – Jeremiah’s Letter to the Exiles
Daniel 9:2 “…in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the LORD through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.”

Ezra 1:1 “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying…”

31:15 and Matthew 2:18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.” Ramah was a town in the land allotted to Benjamin, who was Rachel’s younger son. Genesis 30:1 Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to [demanded] Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!” Not to mention Benjamin was nearly wiped out for not obeying Torah concerning someone’s death (Judges 20-21).

31:19 “Surely, after my turning [back], I repented;
And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh;
I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated,
Because I bore the reproach of my youth.”

Repentance involved humility (recognizing one’s wrongdoing) and accepting instruction, not just an apology.

31:22 “How long will you gad about, O you backsliding daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing in the earth—A woman shall encompass [embrace, protect] a man.” As soon as I thought, “I need to pray for clarification,” the words “pray for” popped into my head. Amen.

31:31-38 – The New Covenant we are grafted into (Romans 11:11-24).

31:35-37 Israel will remain a nation (by His hand) until time and His current Order ends. See Revelation 21:1, Revelation 6:14, Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22, 2 Peter 3:10, 2 Peter 3:13.

32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh.”

Numbers 16:22 “O God [El], the God of the spirits of all flesh…”

Numbers 27:16 “…the Lord [YHWH], the God of the spirits of all flesh…”

“Is there anything too hard for Me?” See Matthew 19:26, 32:17, Genesis 18:14, Numbers 11:23, 2 Kings 1:3, 2 Kings 1:16, 2 Kings 3:18, Isaiah 50:2, Isaiah 59:1, Daniel 3, Daniel 6:22, Luke 1:37.

34:17 “Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty [from slavery], every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the Lord—‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.’”

The Father of All wants willing servants, not slaves.

Are you holding something over someone’s head? Forgive, let go, so you and that person will be free from any negative repercussions.

34:18 “And I will give the men who have transgressed My covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before Me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between the parts of it…”

A similar covenant was cut in Genesis 15, when Abraham cut the animals in two and the Father and the Son passed between the cut parts but not Abraham. The Father and the Son would fulfill all covenants established between Abraham’s descendants—natural and adopted—and Yah Himself.

35:19 “Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack a man to stand before Me forever.” Rechabites may still exists today in modern-day Yemen.

– Jeremiah gets accused of defecting to the Chaldeans, and then the princes (leaders) whine to the king about Jeremiah’s prophecies demoralizing their military and people. I am going to guess very few cared about the covenant and justified its neglect by seeking either an advantage in manipulating the spirit realm in their favor, or the debauched entertainment demonic worship demanded.

38:23 “And you [Zedekiah] shall cause this city to be burned with fire.” No pressure, LOL! Even in his fear, the king still would not take a chance that Jeremiah was right or seek the Lord himself.

– It took Nebuchadnezzar 18 months to penetrate Jerusalem and left the land to the poor.

– The Lord spared the life of Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, who rescued Jeremiah out of the pit of mud, for he trusted the Lord of All.

– Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard of Babylon, knew of Jeremiah’s prophesies and declared the pronouncements had come to pass, giving full credit to the El of the Israelites. He had tell Jeremiah twice to get lost, LOL!

– When Gedaliah became governor by Nebuchadnezzar’s hand, the Jews in Moab, Edom, and Ammon came to help the remnant in Judah to havest.

– Johanan told Gedaliah twice there was a plot to kill him, even offered to kill Ishmael for him. Gedaliah rejected that idea. Unfortunately, Jonanan was right, and Ishmael with 10 men killed Gedaliah and every Jew in the area of the murder. Ishmael also captured the Jew in Mizpah and marched them towards Ammon. Jonanan learned of it and rescued the people, but Ishmael had escaped with 8 men to Ammon. Lesson: Check with the Lord to see what to do with such a serious allegation.

41:9 “Now the pit into which Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had slain, because of Gedaliah, was the same one Asa the king [of Judah] had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with the slain.” Why was this mentioned?

41:10-18 This part reminds me of David and his men freeing their families and possessions from the Amalekites (1 Samuel 30). David’s situation felt like a test from the Lord; this one, centuries later, it gives off the vibe of being the opposite of David’s trust in the Lord. I will set it aside in the long list of future revelations.

– The people still did not trust the word of the Lord from Jeremiah even after the prophecies had come true. The fear of man can be stronger than the fear of God when you submit to the flesh. Please, Father Yah, help us through Your Son and Spirit to avoid not trusting You, Your Will and Purpose.

42:20 “For you were hypocrites [led astray] in your hearts when you sent me to the Lord your God, saying, ‘Pray for us to the Lord our God, and according to all that the Lord your God says, so declare to us and we will do it.’”

Matthew 23:13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites [actors]! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.”

Matthew 23:15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.”

– They dragged Jeremiah and Baruch, along with the survivors, to Egypt. Why not leave those two behind?

– The people openly said they would continue their idolatry, despite Jeremiah’s prophecies and warnings. See Exodus 32:9, Exodus 33:3, Exodus 33:5, Exodus 34:9, Numbers 14:11, Deuteronomy 9:13, Deuteronomy 31:27, 2 Kings 17:14, Isaiah 48:4, Acts 7:51, Hebrews 3:16.

44:2930 “‘And this shall be a sign to you,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that My words will surely stand against you for adversity.’”

“Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, his enemy who sought his life.’”

In modern vernacular: “Since y’all rejected my warning, I will give a sign that I am serious about what will befall y’all in Egypt: Pharaoh will die. Remember, I pronounced and fulfilled Zedekiah’s defeat the same way.”

– Parts of this book are out of chronological order.

47:67 “O you sword of the Lord,
How long until you are quiet?
Put yourself up into your scabbard,
Rest and be still!
How can it be quiet,
Seeing the Lord has given it a charge
Against Ashkelon and against the seashore?
There He has appointed it.”

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Revelation 1:16 “He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.”

Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Psalm 45:3 “Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O Mighty One, With Your glory and Your majesty.”

Isaiah 49:2 “And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.”
Also see Psalm 149:6, Revelation 2:12, Revelation 2:16, Leviticus 26:25, Isaiah 34:6, Isaiah 66:16, Hosea 6:5.

48:10 “Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.”

Matthew 21:28-32 – The Parable of the Two Sons

Matthew 23:3 “Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

Psalm 50:16 But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, or take My covenant in your mouth?”

Judges 5:23 “Curse Meroz,” said the Angel of the Lord, “Curse its inhabitants bitterly, Because they did not come to the help of the Lord, to the help of the Lord against the mighty.”

Judges 21:5 The children of Israel said, “Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who did not come up with the assembly to the Lord?” For they had made a great oath concerning anyone who had not come up to the Lord at Mizpah, saying, “He shall surely be put to death.”

48:25 “The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken,” says the Lord. Horn = strength, authority, power, influence; arm = military might, power in action.

48:30 “I know [Moab’s] wrath,” says the Lord, “But it is not right. His lies [boasts] have made nothing right.”
Isaiah 16:6 “We have heard of the pride of Moab—he is very proud—of his haughtiness and his pride and his wrath; but his lies shall not be so.”

Amos 2:1 Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
The last verse is the one used against cremation. It was an insult to the rulers, people, and the idols Edom had worshiped. The Father does not like dead bodies desecrated, whether people or rulers.

48:31-32 The Father said He would wail, weep, cry, and mourn over Moab’s judgment.

Ezekiel 18:23 “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord GOD, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?

Ezekiel 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!”

Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them: “As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?”

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Also see 48:36, 48:38, Isaiah 15:5, Isaiah 16:7, Isaiah 16:11.

48:35 “Moreover,” says the Lord, “I will cause to cease in Moab the one who offers sacrifices in the high places and burns incense to his gods.”

Genesis 2:17 “…for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…”

Ezekiel 18:4 “The soul who sins shall die.”

Everyone will be held accountable to their sins.

48:36 “…therefore the riches they have acquired have perished.” Luke 12:13-21 – The Parable of the Rich Fool, Matthew 6:19-21 – Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

48:38 “For I have broken Moab like a vessel in which is no pleasure,” says the Lord.

2 Timothy 2:21 “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from [these sins], he will be a vessel [instrument, tool] for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

48:47 “Yet I will bring back the captives of Moab in the latter days,” says the Lord.
49:6 “But afterward I will bring back The captives of the people of Ammon,” says the Lord.
49:39 “…in the latter days, I will bring back the captives of Elam [Iran],” says the Lord.
12:15 “Then it shall be, after I have plucked [the neighboring countries] out, that I will return and have compassion on them and bring them back, everyone to his heritage and everyone to his land.”

Isaiah 19:18-25 – Egypt, Assyria, and Israel Blessed Together

Isaiah 27:13 “So it shall be in that day: The great trumpet will be blown. They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria, and they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.”

50:6 “My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray. They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting place.”

50:17 “Israel is like scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; now at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

There are so many references to people being like sheep. My favorites are Psalm 23, Matthew 9:36, Matthew 10:6, John 10:14, John 10:27.

Most of Chapters 50 and 51 describes Babylon’s judgment due to being too harsh on Israel, another example of dark humor on display. This also foreshadow the worldwide Babylon systemic collapse in the book of Revelation.

51:8 “Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed. Wail for her! Take balm for her pain; perhaps she may be healed.”

51:37 “Babylon shall become a heap, a dwelling place for jackals, an astonishment and a hissing, without an inhabitant.”

51:44 “I will punish Bel in Babylon, And I will bring out of his mouth what he has swallowed; And the nations shall not stream to him anymore. Yes, the wall of Babylon shall fall.”

Revelation 14:8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!”

Isaiah 21:9 “And look, here comes a chariot of men with a pair of horsemen!” Then he answered and said, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen! And all the carved images of her gods He has broken to the ground.”

Babylon took the holy tools, except for the Ark of the Covenant, the Mercy Seat, and the two Altars. What had happened to those items? The Kingdom of Northern Israel did some of that during Amaziah’s reign (2 Kings 14:13-14). Egypt had a turn during Rehoboam’s reign (1 Kings 14:25-26). I want to contrast these with the 3 kings of Judah, Joash (2 Kings 12:18 – successful), Ahaz (2 Kings 16:7-9, 2 Chronicles 28:21 – partially successful) and Hezekiah (2 Kings 18:15-17 – failure), giving an advancing enemy items from the Temple. This pillaging happened again in 70 AD by the Romans with the second Temple. That makes 7 times articles were stolen from the Temple.

Lamentations
– I think this book is far more depressing than Ecclesiastes. Ecclesiastes at least has a bunch of useful information.

2:8 “He has stretched out a line… He has not withdrawn His hand from destroying.”

Amos 7:7-8 Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?”

And I said, “A plumb line.”

Then the Lord said: “Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore.”

2 Kings 21:13 “And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.”

Isaiah 28:17 “Also I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plummet [weight of the plumb line]; The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place.”

Isaiah 34:11 “But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it, Also the owl and the raven shall dwell in it. And He shall stretch out over it the line of confusion and the stones of emptiness.”

Zechariah 4:10 “For these seven rejoice to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel [Jesus’ ancestor]. They are the eyes of the Lord, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.”

3:8 “Even when I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.” Who cannot relate to this? This is when patience (a test of faith) has to be exercise, even during times of trouble.

3:21-42 Jeremiah encourages himself in the Lord, asks us all to be patient and consider our ways.

3:22-23Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” He keeps us alive, and every day is a new beginning.

Zephaniah 3:5 “Every morning He brings His justice to light; He never fails…”

Job 7:18 “That You should visit him every morning, and test him every moment?”

Jeremiah 21:12 O house of David! Thus says the LORD: “Execute judgment in the morning; and deliver him who is plundered out of the hand of the oppressor, lest My fury go forth like fire and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.”

3:30 “Let him give his cheek to the one who strikes him, and be full of reproach.”
Matthew 5:39 and Luke 6:29 “But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.”

4:9Those slain by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger…” No kidding, starvation is a horrible way to die.

5:7 “Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities.”

Leviticus 26:40 “But if they will confess their iniquity and that of their fathers in the unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me…”

Also see Jeremiah 3:25, Jeremiah 14:20, Jeremiah 16:12, Jeremiah 31:29, Ezekiel 18:2. People can debate this all they want. As for me, I have repented of any generational sins. I will not take any chances.

5:14 “And the young men from their music.” Not much has changed today. The young have always been into entertainment.

5:22 “Unless You have utterly rejected us, and are very angry with us!” LOL! Dark humor right here.

Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 6 – Jeremiah, Section 2

11:16 “The Lord called your name, Green Olive Tree, Lovely and of Good Fruit. With the noise of a great tumult He has kindled fire on it, And its branches are broken.”

Romans 11:17 “And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree…”

John 15:2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”

Fulfillment of the curse (promise) of Deuteronomy 28:40 “You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olives shall drop off.”

11:19 “But I was like a docile lamb brought to the slaughter…”
Isaiah 53:7 [Acts 8:32] “He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.” Also see Matthew 26:63, Matthew 27:12, Mark 14:61, Mark 15:5, Luke 23:9, John 19:9, John 1:29, 1 Peter 1:19, Psalm 39:2.

“…and I did not know that they had devised schemes against me, saying, ‘Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be remembered no more.’”
Nehemiah 9:26 “Nevertheless they were disobedient and rebelled against You, cast Your law behind their backs and killed Your prophets, who testified against them to turn them to Yourself; and they worked great provocations.” Also see 1 Kings 19:10, 2 Chronicles 24:21, Matthew 23:34, Matthew 23:35, Luke 11:51, Hebrews 11:37.
The ancients had the idea that (1) the gift of prophecy was hereditary and (2) killing a prophet would spare them from the judgment the prophet pronounced. They understood the concept of manifesting by the tongue but were mistaken in trying to control Yah’s Will.

12:2 “You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; they grow, yes, they bear fruit.”
11:17 “For the Lord of hosts, Who planted you…”

Exodus 15:17 “You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O Lord, which You have made For Your own dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.”

2 Samuel 7:10 “Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously,”

Psalm 80:8 “You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it.”

Psalm 80:15 “And the vineyard which Your right hand has planted, And the branch [son] that You made strong for Yourself.”

Psalm 44:2 “You drove out the nations with Your hand, but them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out.”

Isaiah 5:2 “He dug it up and cleared out its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, And also made a winepress in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, But it brought forth wild grapes.”

Also see Matthew 21:33, Mark 12:1, Luke 13:6, John 15:1, Psalm 37:35, Jeremiah 45:4.

You are near in their mouth but far from their mind.”

Isaiah 29:13 [Matthew 15:8, Mark 7:6] “Therefore the Lord said: ‘Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me…’”

3:10 “And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but in pretense,” says the Lord.

Titus 1:16 “They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.”

Proverbs 30:12There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, yet is not washed from its filthiness.”

12:16 “…to swear by My name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ as they taught My people to swear by Baal…” Ouch! No wonder the Lord declared He hated them (12:8). Faith = loyalty + trust.

13:11 “For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,” says the Lord, “that they may become My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.”

Exodus 19:56 “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. [1 Peter 2:5, 1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:6, Revelation 5:10, Leviticus 19:2].”
Revelation 1:13 “…and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. The golden sash in Revelation = the future reign of Christ with His Overcomers.

13:12-14 “Therefore you shall speak to them this word: ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “Every bottle [skin, jar] shall be filled with wine.”’

“And they will say to you, ‘Do we not certainly know that every bottle [skin, jar] will be filled with wine?’

Matthew 9:17, Mark 2:22 and Luke 5:3738 “Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

Job 32:19 “Indeed my belly is like wine that has no vent; It is ready to burst like new wineskins.”

“Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land—even the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem—with drunkenness! And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together,” says the Lord. “I will not pity nor spare nor have mercy, but will destroy them.”’”

Isaiah 63:6 “I trampled the nations in My anger; in My wrath I made them drunk and poured out their blood on the ground.”

Isaiah 51:17 “Awake, awake! Rise up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk from the hand of the LORD the cup of His fury; you who have drained the goblet to the dregs—the cup that makes men stagger.”

25:27 “Then you are to tell them that this is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, because of the sword I will send among you.’”
Psalm 60:3 “You have shown Your people hardship; we are staggered from the wine You made us drink.”
Psalm 75:8 “For a cup is in the hand of the Lord, full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours from His cup, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to the dregs.”
You are the container. Your agreement with the Lord determines how you will be filled.

15:1Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My mind [heart, life] would not be favorable toward this people.” This reminds me of Ezekiel 14:14 “Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.”

15:16 “Your words were found, and I ate them.”

Psalm 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste—sweeter than honey in my mouth!

Ezekiel 2:8 “Open your mouth and eat what I [the Lord] give you.”
Ezekiel 3:3 “Son of man,” He said to me, “eat and fill your stomach with this scroll I am giving you.” So I ate, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.

Revelation 10:9 And I went to the angel and said, “Give me the small scroll.”

Take it and eat it,” he said. “It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.”

John 6:26-58 “For My flesh [the Word of God] is food [for the ear, the soul] indeed, and My blood [My life, My works, My sacrifice] is drink [for the eyes, the soul] indeed.”

16:4 “They shall die gruesome deaths; they shall not be lamented nor shall they be buried, but they shall be like refuse on the face of the earth. They shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, and their corpses shall be meat for the birds of heaven and for the beasts of the earth.” Also see 8:2, 9:22, 25:33, Deuteronomy 28:26, Psalm 79:2, Psalm 79:3, Psalm 83:10, Isaiah 5:25, Isaiah 18:6, Zephaniah 1:17.

Luke 17-34-37 “I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”

And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?”

So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

Matthew 24 and Luke 17 match up well. Judge for yourselves.

16:7 Nor shall men break bread in mourning for them, to comfort them for the dead; nor shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or their mother.
Ezekiel 24:17 “Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind your turban on your head, and put your sandals on your feet; do not cover your lips, and do not eat man’s bread of sorrow.

Hosea 9:4 “…but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be defiled. For their bread will be for themselves…

Eating after funerals is nothing new.

17:4 “…for you have kindled a fire in My anger which shall burn forever.” The Hebrew words translated forever are olam (עוֹלָ֥ם) and adolam (עַד־עוֹלָ֥ם), which actually mean “for an indeterminate amount of time” and “a long time towards a goal.”

17:5 “Cursed is the [strong, warrior] man who trusts in man[kind] and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord.”

17:910 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?”

A famous quote and here is the answer: “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.” This is where people get the idea to say, whenever they cannot tolerate criticism, “God knows my heart.”

17:19-27 Through Jeremiah, the Father told the people to just do the Sabbath—don’t carry burdens or conduct business, but they couldn’t even do that. Father knew they wouldn’t.

18:6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!”

2 Timothy 2:21 “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

Matthew 20:15a “Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things?” Also see Romans 9:20, Romans 9:21, Isaiah 19:25, Isaiah 45:9, Isaiah 64:8, Exodus 4:22, Job 10:3, Job 10:8, Psalm 100:3.

18:20 “Remember that I stood before You to speak good for them, to turn away Your wrath from them.” Wasn’t Jeremiah told not to pray for them? No wonder the Father had to remind him twice more after the first time.

18:21-23 Now Jeremiah wants revenge.

19:5 “…they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command or speak, nor did it come into My mind…” That is straight up demonic! Psalm 106:37 “They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.” Deuteronomy 12:31 “You must not worship the Lord your God in this way, because they practice for their gods every abomination which the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.” Deuteronomy 32:17 “They sacrificed to demons, not to God, To gods they did not know, To new gods, new arrivals That your fathers did not fear.”

20:7-12 Jeremiah complains, tries to quit, but can’t.

20:1415 Cursed be the day in which I was born! Let the day not be blessed in which my mother bore me! Let the man be cursed who brought news to my father, saying, “A male child has been born to you!” Making him very glad.
15:10 “Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent for interest, nor have men lent to me for interest. Every one of them curses me.”

Job 3:3 “May the day perish on which I was born, And the night in which it was said, ‘A male child is conceived.’”

21:8 “Now you shall say to this people, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.”’”

Deuteronomy 30:15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil…”

Deuteronomy 30:19I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live…”

Proverbs 12:28In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death.”

Deuteronomy 11:26 “See, today I am setting before you a blessing and a curse…”

Deuteronomy 30:1 “Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you…”

Genesis 2:17 “…but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”

Choices, always, everyday, choices…

22:6 For thus says the Lord to the house of the king of Judah: “You are Gilead to Me, the head of Lebanon. Yet I surely will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.” In short, “I don’t know you; now, be gone!”

Matthew 7:23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

Psalm 6:8 “Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.”

Also see Psalm 119:115, Matthew 25:41, Luke 13:25, Luke 13:27.

22:13 “Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness and his chambers by injustice…”

Matthew 7:26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.”

Isaiah 5:8 “Woe to those who join house to house; they add field to field, till there is no place Where they may dwell alone in the midst of the land!”
Micah 3:10 “…who build up Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with iniquity…”

Habakkuk 2:12 “Woe to him who builds a town with bloodshed, Who establishes a city by iniquity!”

Habakkuk 2:9 “Woe to him who covets evil gain for his house, That he may set his nest on high, That he may be delivered from the power of disaster!”

“…who uses his neighbor’s service without wages and gives him nothing for his work.”
Leviticus 19:13 “You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.”

Deuteronomy 24:15 “Each day you shall give him his wages, and not let the sun go down on it, for he is poor and has set his heart on it; lest he cry out against you to the Lord, and it be sin to you.”

1 Timothy 5:18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain [Deuteronomy 25:4, 1 Corinthians 9:9],” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

James 5:4 “Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.”

– Lots of mentions comparing Israel to sheep, having failures for shepherds [leaders], being scattered around the world, and the Lord gathering them back into the land.

23:4 “I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them…” and 3:15 “And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Ephesians 4:11 “And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors [shepherds] and teachers…” Also see Ezekiel 34:2, Ezekiel 34:23, Psalm 23, John 21, Ephesians 5:26, John 13:10, John 15:3.

Feed the sheep = food (give them the Word, the Instruction to follow) and water (make sure it is pure and just).

23:10 “For the land is full of adulterers; for because of a curse the land mourns. The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up. Their course of life is evil, and their might is not right.”

Isaiah 24:5 “The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.”

Revelation 11:18 “The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth.”

Genesis 15:16 “But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

Numbers 35:3334 “So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it. Therefore do not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell; for I the Lord dwell among the children of Israel.’”

Also see 2:7, 3:9, 12:4, 16:18, Leviticus 18:24, Leviticus 18:25, Deuteronomy 21:8, Deuteronomy 21:23, Psalm 106:38, Psalm 107:34, Genesis 3:17.

Without repentance, intentional sin, violence, and bloodshed pollute an area, giving the Lord the right to either judge or kick out the inhabitants.

23:29Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”
5:14 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.”
4:19 “O my soul, my soul! I am pained in my very heart! My heart makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, Because you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.”
20:9 Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.”

Psalm 39:3 “My heart was hot within me; while I was musing, the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue…”

Hosea 6:5 “Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth, and My judgments go forth like lightning.”

Luke 24:32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

Isaiah 53:10 “Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.”

Daniel 2:45 “Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold—the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.”

Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 6 – Jeremiah, Section 1

– God’s people did not believe Jeremiah was a true prophet until either danger had approached, war hit them, or the murder of Pharaoh. How can we test so-called prophets today if the prophecies take time to come to fruition? I say, ask the Father to show you and wait for the answer.

– Both Isaiah and Jeremiah repeat themselves a lot.

– Jeremiah did no miracles nor was a witness to positive outcomes of his prophecies.

1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” This famous passage brings tears to my eyes.

Psalm 139:13-16 “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”

Job 10:8 “Your hands shaped me and altogether formed me. Would You now turn and destroy me?”

Psalm 119:73 “Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding to learn Your commandments.”

Ecclesiastes 11:5 “As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the bones are formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”

Isaiah 43:1 and Isaiah 44:2 “Thus says the LORD who made you and formed you from the womb, Who will help you…”

Isaiah 49:1 “Listen to Me, O islands; pay attention, O distant peoples: The LORD called Me from the womb; from the body of My mother He named Me.”

Isaiah 49:5 “And now the LORD says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant…”

Galatians 1:15 “But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased…”

1:11-12 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?”

And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”

Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”

Numbers 17:8 “Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.” The Father established His authority through His power.

1:16 “Because they have forsaken Me… and worshiped the works of their own hands.”

Isaiah 2:8 “Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.”

Isaiah 37:19 “They have cast their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods, but only wood and stone—the work of human hands.”

Revelation 9:20 “Now the rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the works of their hands.”

Technology and entertainment anyone?

1:19 They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.” AGAIN! Because they had disobeyed, AGAIN!

2:3 “Israel [God is upright, God strives, the upright striving for God] was holiness to the LORD, the firstfruits [beginning results] of His increase. All that devour him will offend; disaster will come upon them,” says the LORD. James 1:18 “He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.”

2:6Neither did they say, ‘Where is the Lord, Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt?’” Notice how often the Exodus is brought up? How important is this today?

2:24 “A wild donkey used to the wilderness, that sniffs at the wind in her desire; in her time of mating, who can turn her away? All those who seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they will find her.”

Genesis 16:12 “[Ishmael] will be a wild donkey of a man, and his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”

Job 24:5 “Indeed, like wild donkeys in the desert, the poor go to work foraging for food; the wasteland is food for their children.

Israel is like Ishmael and his descendants, acting like the Father never provided for them.

2:25Withhold your foot from being unshod [ashamed], and your throat from thirst [deprived]. But you said, ‘There is no hope [trust in God]. No! For I have loved aliens, and after them I will go.’”

God had wanted them to treat the strangers among them well, not become like the surrounding nations. If they had obeyed, foreigners would have desired to become as Israel, serving the Lord, getting blessed in return. Influence is a powerful force.

2:28 “But where are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them rise up in your time of trouble and save you if they can.” LOL!

2:31 “O generation, see the word of the LORD! Have I been a wilderness to Israel, Or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, ‘We are lords; We will come no more to You’?”

Mark 9:19 He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you?”

Numbers 14:11 Then the LORD said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?”

2:33 “Why do you beautify your way to seek love? Therefore you have also taught
the wicked women your ways.” Israel caused their women to sin. Remember, the Moabite women were sent to entice the men of Israel to sin.

Hosea 4:14 “I will not punish your daughters when they commit harlotry, Nor your brides when they commit adultery; For the men themselves go apart with harlots, And offer sacrifices with a ritual harlot. Therefore people who do not understand will be trampled.”

Men were the ones messing around with temple prostitutes, which encouraged the women to prostitute themselves.

2:34Also on your skirts is found the blood of the lives of the poor innocents.” They have caused the innocent (helpless, children) to die and see nothing wrong with it.

3:1 “They say, ‘If a man divorces his wife, And she goes from him and becomes another man’s, May he return to her again?’ Would not that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the harlot with many lovers; Yet return to Me,” says the LORD.

Deuteronomy 24:4 “…then the husband who divorced her first may not remarry her after she has been defiled, for that is an abomination to the LORD. You must not bring sin upon the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.”

Genesis 2:24 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Also see Matthew 19:5, Mark 10:7, Mark 10:8, 1 Corinthians 6:16, Ephesians 5:31.

Marital purity was/is paramount, spiritually speaking, because the God-given, reproductive force of sexual energy used outside of God’s Order (in nature) and Will (direction for use) maintains and spreads the first sin’s corruption over the Earth. This opens mankind to evil influences, whether it be from entities, people, or society (culture) as a whole. Sex, simply put, is the strongest spiritual activity corrupt mankind will ever experience. It is even greater than murder, since more people have sex than kill. This is why Scripture either mentions or alludes to the sexual behavior involved with idolatry. Also sacrificing the fruit of sexual activity (children) bares a double consequence: pollution of the environment (2 Kings 3:27, Numbers 35:33, Genesis 4:10, Genesis 9:6, Deuteronomy 19:10, Deuteronomy 19:13, Deuteronomy 21:1-9, Proverbs 6:17, 1 Samuel 19:5, 26:15, 1 Kings 2:31, Matthew 27:4, Matthew 27:24) and insulting the Father’s work (Leviticus 18:21, Leviticus 20:2-5, Deuteronomy 18:10, Deuteronomy 12:31, 2 Kings 16:3, 2 Kings 17:17, 2 Kings 21:6, 2 Chronicles 28:3, 2 Chronicles 33:6, Psalm 106:37, Psalm 106:38, 7:31, 19:5, 32:35).

3:3 “You have had a harlot’s forehead [mindset]…” LOL!

3:4 “My Father, You are the guide of my youth?”

Genesis 45:8 [Joseph said,] “He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.”

Judges 17:10 Micah said to [the Levite], “Dwell with me, and be a father and a priest to me…”

Judges 18:19 “And [the Danites] said to [the Levite], “Be quiet, put your hand over your mouth, and come with us; be a father and a priest to us.”

A father is a strong guard, guide, advisor—all three belong to the Lord, even today.

3:13 “Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against the Lord your God, and have scattered your charms to alien deities under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice,” says the Lord.

Nehemiah 9:2 “Those of Israelite descent separated themselves from all the foreigners, and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.”
Psalm 106:6 “We have sinned like our fathers; we have done wrong and acted wickedly.”

Daniel 9:20 “Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain [capital city] of my God [Jerusalem]…”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

3:16 “Then it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days,” says the Lord, “that they will say no more, ‘The ark of the covenant of the Lord.’ It shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they visit it, nor shall it be made anymore.”

Isaiah 65:17 “For behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.”

31:31-34 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

1 Corinthians 13:10 “But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.”

3:17 “At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the Lord, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the dictates of their evil hearts.”

Revelation 2:27He shall rule them with a rod of iron. They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels.’ [Psalm 2:9]— as I also have received from My Father.”

4:16 “Make mention to the nations, yes, proclaim against Jerusalem, that watchers [besiegers] come from a far country and raise their voice against the cities of Judah.”

4:23 “I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void. And the heavens, they had no light.”

Genesis 1:2 Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

5:31The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?” This is true today.

6:10 “Indeed their ear is uncircumcised…”

Deuteronomy 10:16 “Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and stiffen your necks no more.”

Acts 7:51 “You stiff-necked people uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit, just as your fathers did.” Also see Leviticus 26:41, Deuteronomy 30:6, 4:4, 9:25, Romans 2:27, Romans 2:29, 9:26.

6:14 and 8:11 “For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.”

Ezekiel 13:10 “…they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace…”

1 Thessalonians 5:3 “Peace and safety!”

Also see 14:13, 23:17, 23:32.

7:11 “…a den of thieves.” Also see Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, Luke 19:46.

7:16, 11:14, 14:11 “Do not pray for these people.” A prophet was to pray over the people.

8:2 “[The enemy] shall spread [Judah] before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and which they have served and after which they have walked, which they have sought and which they have worshiped. They shall not be gathered nor buried; they shall be like refuse on the face of the earth.”

9:22 “Even the carcasses of men shall fall as refuse on the open field, like cuttings after the harvester, and no one shall gather them.

Also see 2 Kings 9:37, 2 Kings 23:5, Psalm 53:5, Psalm 83:10, Job 39:30, Matthew 24:28, Luke 17:37, Habakkuk 1:8.

8:22 “Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no recovery for the health of the daughter of my people?”

Revelation 3:18 “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.”

9:5 “They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves to commit iniquity.”

Romans 7:23 “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”

Romans 8:5 “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.”

2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down arguments [imagination] and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…”

Galatians 5:17 “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.”

Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Ephesians 4:23 “…and be renewed in the spirit of your mind…”

Your mind is under your control. You are allowed to reject thoughts that would cause chaos and disaster. Rebuke the adversary, if need be.

9:7 “Behold, I will refine them and try [test] them.”

Psalm 66:10 “For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us like silver.:
Proverbs 17:3 “A crucible for silver and a furnace for gold, but the Lord is the tester of hearts.”
Proverbs 25:4 “Remove the dross from the silver, and a vessel for a silversmith will come forth.”

Isaiah 1:25 “I will turn My hand against you; I will thoroughly purge your dross; I will remove all your impurities.”
Isaiah 48:10 “See, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”
6:27 “I have set you as an assayer [examiner] and a fortress among My people, that you may know and test their way.”

6:29 “The bellows blow fiercely. The lead is consumed by the fire. The smelter refines in vain, for the wicked are not drawn off.”

Malachi 3:3 “He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.”

Job 7:18 “That You should visit him every morning, and test him every moment?”

Job 23:10 “Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”
1 Peter 1:7 “…that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ…”

1 Peter 4:12 “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you.”

1 Corinthians 3:13 “…each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.”

Psalm 81:7 “I tested you at the waters of Meribah.”

If you believe that God tests us everyday, every second, and act accordingly, you have the fear of the Lord.

9:15 “…therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will feed them, this people, with wormwood [poison], and give them water of gall [bitter] to drink.’”

Revelation 8:11 “The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.”

Also see 23:15, Lamentations 3:15, Lamentations 3:19, Amos 5:7, Amos 6:12, Isaiah 5:20.

9:24 “But let him who glories [boasts] glory [boast] in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord. Also see 1 Corinthians 1:31, 2 Corinthians 10:17, Galatians 6:14, Psalm 20:7, Psalm 34:2, Psalm 44:8, Luke 1:46, 1 Samuel 2:1.

Do I know You enough, Lord, to boast of You in Your holy Name?

10:2 Thus says the Lord: “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles. Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the Gentiles are dismayed at them.”

Deuteronomy 4:19 “And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the LORD your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.”

Genesis 2:1 “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.”

Deuteronomy 17:3 “…who has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, either the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded…”
The celestial sky is our clock (
Genesis 1:14, Psalm 104:19), not for worship.

10:23 “O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.”

Proverbs 16:9 “A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.”

Also see Proverbs 3:6, Proverbs 16:1, Proverbs 20:24, Isaiah 26:7, Proverbs 16:3, Psalm 37:5, Psalm 37:24, Psalm 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7.

10:24 “Correct me, O Lord, in Your mercy, not Your anger lest I come to nothing.”
I have this one memorized.

10:25 “Pour out Your fury on the Gentiles, who do not know You, and on the families who do not call on Your name; for they have eaten up Jacob, devoured him and consumed him, and made his dwelling place desolate.”

Psalm 79:6 “Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not know You, And on the kingdoms that do not call on Your name.”

Revelation 16:1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out on the earth the seven bowls of God’s wrath.”

He has, is, and will pour out His wrath. Amen.

Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 5 – Isaiah, Second Half

45:18 “Who did not create it in vain [formless]. Who formed it to be inhabited.” There are debates about this passage in light of Genesis 1:2. Did He create something formless and void, or did He cause it to become formless and void before He spoke the Earth’s order into existence?

45:23 “Every knee shall bow; every tongue shall take an oath.”

Romans 14:11 “For it is written: ‘As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.’”
Philippians 2:10 “…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth…”

Isaiah 47 – Because of Babylon’s cruelty, idolatry, and divination, it will suffer as Judah had suffered.

48:8 “Surely from long ago your ear was not opened.” You were not paying attention. “For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, and were called a transgressor from the womb.” Even though He knew how we would be, He created us anyway.

48:16 “Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His Spirit Have sent Me.”

John 8:58 “Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.’”
Luke 10:18 “And He said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.’”

Isaiah 49 – Another chapter about Jesus, Yeshua (salvation), Yahshua (God saves).

49:16 “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands…”

John 20:27 “Then He said to Thomas, ‘Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.’”
Luke 24:40 “And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.”

49:23 “And lick the dust from your feet.”

Luke 7:38 “…and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.”
Luke 7:45 “You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in.”
Psalm 72:9 “Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him, and His enemies will lick the dust.”

50:6 “I gave My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.” What Jesus endured: Matthew 26:67, Matthew 27:30, Mark 14:65, Mark 15:19, Luke 22:63.

51:1 “Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek the LORD…”

Proverbs 15:9 “The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but He loves him who follows righteousness.”
Jeremiah 29:13 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
Acts 17:27 “…so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us…”
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

51:12 “Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass?”

Psalm 118:6 “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Psalm 56:4 “In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?”
Hebrews 13:6 “So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Also see 2:22, Romans 8:31, Psalm 27:1.

52:13-15 – The Suffering Servant.

53:5 “…by His stripes we are healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. ‘By His stripes you are healed.’”

55:1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”

John 4:14 “…but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
John 7:37 “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.’”
John 7:38 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Also see Proverbs 10:11, Proverbs 18:4, Proverbs 20:5, 58:11.

Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”
Revelation 3:18 “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.”
Psalm 107:9 “For He satisfies the longing [thirsty] soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.”

55:8 “My thought are not your thoughts, nor are My ways, your ways.” Neither does He think or operate as we do. But, if we seeking after Him in persistence, He will show us pieces of His heart. Proverbs 25:2It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings [anointed ones] is to search out a matter.”

Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

48:6 “You have heard; see all this. And will you not declare it? I have made you hear new things from this time, even hidden things, and you did not know them.”

55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Psalm 40:5 “Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.”
Psalm 25:10 “All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.”
14:24 “The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, ‘Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand.’”

56:3 Nor let the eunuch say, “Here I am, a dry tree.” Trees symbolize people in Scripture.

56:4-5 “For thus says the LORD: “To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant, Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name Better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off.”

Matthew 19:12 “For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.”
Revelation 14:4 “These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.”
Acts 8:27-39 – the Ethiopian eunuch, who quoted Isaiah 53:7-8.

56:7 “For my house will be a house of prayer for all nations [peoples].” Also see Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, Luke 19:46.

56:8 “Yet I will gather to him others besides those who are gathered to him.”

60:3 “The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
John 10:16 “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold [Israel]; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock [humanity] and one shepherd [king].”

56:12 “Tomorrow will be as today, and much more abundant.” Affluence does that to people; nothing has changed.

57:10 “You have found the life of your hand; therefore you were not grieved.” This is a naughty reference. I will let y’all suss it out.

57:11 “Is it not because I have held My peace from of old that you do not fear Me?” Yes. *looks around for lightning strike*

57:13 “When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you.” LOL, the voice actor put a little attitude in his reading here. I love it!

57:14 “Take the stumbling block out of the way of My people.”

Matthew 16:23 “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense [stumbling block] to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Also see Luke 17:1, Matthew 18:7.

1 Corinthians 8:9 “But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.” Also see Romans 14:13, Romans 14:20.

59:7 “Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood.”

Romans 3:15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood.”
Proverbs 1:16 “For their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed blood.”
Proverbs 6:18 “…a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that run swiftly to evil…”

59:14 “And equity [straightness, right balance] cannot enter.”

59:17 “For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head.
He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.”

Ephesians 6:14-17 “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

61:3 “The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness [depression].”
61:10 “For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness…”

1 Thessalonians 5:8 “But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.”
Romans 13:12 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”
Romans 13:14 “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
Job 29:14 “I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.”

Ephesians 4:24 “and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
Colossians 3:10 “…and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him…”

Clothes symbolize one’s character, whether it’s genuine or false.

Isaiah 60 – Gentiles bless Israel.

61:1-2 is what He read in the synagogue at the start of His ministry in Luke 4:18-19. The rest will be fulfilled upon His return. Halleluyah!

62:2 “You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord will name.”

Revelation 2:17 “To the one who overcomes, I will give the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone inscribed with a new name, known only to the one who receives it.”
Revelation 3:12 “The one who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will never again leave it. Upon him I will write the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from My God), and My new name.”

62:11 “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.’”

Matthew 16:27 “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”
Romans 2:6 [God] “will repay each one according to his deeds.”

63:23 Why are Your clothes red, and Your garments like one who treads the winepress? “I have trodden the winepress alone, and no one from the nations was with Me. I trampled them in My anger and trod them down in My fury; their blood spattered My garments, and all My clothes were stained.”

Revelation 19:13 “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.”
Revelation 14:19-20 “So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.”

63:9 “In all their affliction He was afflicted.”

Exodus 3:7 “And the LORD said: ‘I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.’”

And the Angel of His Presence saved them.”

Exodus 23:20 “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.”
Exodus 33:14 “And He said, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’”

And He bore them and carried them all the days of old.”

Deuteronomy 1:31 “…and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.”
46:4 “Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Deuteronomy 32:10 “He found [Israel] in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.”

63:17 “O LORD, why have You made us stray from Your ways, and hardened our heart from Your fear?” We are given choices.

64:6 “But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy [menstrual] rags.” I hate the term “sin nature” because it softens the impact of what we actually are—corrupted flesh that deserves to be destroyed, an irritant to His holiness.

64:8 “But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand.” Also see Lamentations 4:2, Jeremiah 18:6, Romans 9:20, Romans 9:21, 29:16, 45:9, Job 10:9, Job 33:6, Psalm 40:2, John 9:6, 2 Corinthians 4:7.

65:4 “Who sit among the graves, and spend the night in the tombs; who eat swine’s flesh, and the broth of abominable things is in their vessels.”

66:17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves, to go to the gardens after an idol in the midst, eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse, shall be consumed together,” says the LORD. Reminds me of the Gerasene demoniac.

65:8 “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it,’ So will I do for My servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all.”

Life [the soul] is in the blood.” See Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 3:17, Leviticus 7:26, Leviticus 17:10. Leviticus 17:11, Leviticus 17:12, Leviticus 17:14, Leviticus 19:26, Deuteronomy 12:16, Acts 15:20, Acts 15:29, Acts 21:25.

Deuteronomy 32:14 “And you drank wine, the blood of the grapes.” Blood = life, soul.

65:12 “Because, when I called, you did not answer.” See 66:4, Proverbs 1:24, 2 Chronicles 36:15, Romans 10:21. This also reminds me of a story in Judges about the Benjamites not turning over the men who killed the Levite’s concubine and then Jabesh Gilead and Shiloh not answering the call to punish the Benjamites.

65:17 “I create new heavens and a new earth.” See Revelation 21:1, 2 Peter 3:13, 66:22, Revelation 6:14, 34:4.
And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.”
43:18 “Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old.”

65:24 “That before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”

55:6 “Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” Also see Psalm 91:15, 30:19, 41:17, Isaiah 58:9, Isaiah 59:1, Psalm 50:15, Psalm 18:6, Genesis 35:3, Psalm 107:6,13,19,28.

65:25 “And dust shall be the serpent’s food.”

Genesis 3:14 “So the LORD God said to the serpent: ‘Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.’”

Micah 7:17 “They will lick the dust like a snake, like reptiles slithering on the ground. They will crawl from their holes in the presence of the LORD our God; they will tremble in fear of You.”

66:1 and Acts 7:49 “Heaven is My throne, and the earth My footstool. What is this house that you will build to me? And where is the place of My rest?”
Matthew 5:34-35 “But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.”

66:4 “So will I choose their delusions, and bring their fears on them.”
Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.”
2 Thessalonians 2:11 “For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie.”

Ezekiel 20:25 “I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and ordinances by which they could not live.”

Psalm 69:27 “Add iniquity to their iniquity; let them not share in Your righteousness.”
Psalm 81:12 “So I gave them up to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.”

Psalm 69:23 “May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs bent forever.”
Acts 7:42 “Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven…”
Acts 14:16 “Who in the generations past allowed all the nations to go their own ways.”

Job 8:4 “When your children sinned against Him, He gave them over to their rebellion.”
44:18 “They do not know nor understand; for He has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, and their hearts, so that they cannot understand.”

6:10 and Acts 28:27 “Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed.”

Also see Deuteronomy 29:4, Jeremiah 5:21, Matthew 13:13, Matthew 13:14, Mark 4:12, John 12:40, Acts 28:26, Acts 28:27, Romans 1:24, Romans 11:8, Isaiah 6:9.

66:7-13 The rebirth of Israel with the Gentiles’ help.

66:24 “And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, and their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

Mark 9:44, 46, 48 “…where ‘their worm never dies, and the fire is never quenched.’” Some Bibles only contain verse 48.
Matthew 3:12 “His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Matthew 25:41 “Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’”

5:14 “Therefore Sheol [hell] has enlarged itself And opened its mouth beyond measure; Their glory and their multitude and their pomp, And he who is jubilant, shall descend into it.”
14:11 “Your pomp has been brought down to Sheol, along with the music of your harps. Maggots are your bed and worms your blanket.”

Yup, that sounds like hell.

Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 5 – Isaiah, First Half

– I just realized Isaiah contains many observations and conclusions, which are based on the fear of the Lord in poetic form. I wager this is why the Father told Habakkuk, “Write the vision and make it plain [easy to read and understand, no poetry].”

– “…like a woman in travail…” is used a lot. I assumed the ancients believed this was the worse pain ever.

2:6 “For You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob, Because they are filled with eastern ways; They are soothsayers like the Philistines, And they are pleased with the children of foreigners.” Philistia was southwest of Judah, so the eastern part did not make sense. I had to look this one up and the translations vary. The best word-for-word translation is “For You have abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled with ancient ways; they are soothsayers like the Philistines; they strike [shake] hands with the children of foreigners.”

3:4 “I will give children to be their princes, And babes [the unstable] shall rule over them.” and 3:12As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths.” Remember, back then, as soon as a girl got her period, she could be married off. That type, I believe, is what Isaiah meant, in context with the rest of the verses. 2 Timothy 3:6 “For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts…”

3:5 “The people will be oppressed, Every one by another and every one by his neighbor; The child will be insolent toward the elder, And the base toward the honorable.”

Luke 12:53 “Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Micah 7:6 “For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.”

Matthew 10:21 and Mark 13:12 “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.”

Matthew 10:35-36 “For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’”

4:4 “When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning…” The Altar of Sacrifice – to put our entire everything on it and ask Yah to burn up anything that is not of Him; anything left, we can keep. The entrails [sins] were burned outside the camp. The blood [the old life] poured under the Altar [the ground—the world].

5:12 “But they do not regard the work of the Lord, nor consider the operation of His hands.” Once again, we are to recognize and celebrate the Lord’s work in the lives of ourselves and others, not just nature. I believe this will help fight our corruption and repel the adversary.

5:20 “Woe to those who call good, evil, and evil, good.” OK, that is where that is. “Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness.”

Luke 11:34-35 “The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.”

Matthew 6:22-23The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”

5:25 “His hand is stretched out still.” The Lord has lifted His hand (protection) off His people.

8:12 “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” Recognize trouble, but don’t dwell on it. Trust the Lord.

10:2 “To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless.”

Deuteronomy 15:11 “For there will never cease to be poor in the land; that is why I am commanding you to open wide your hand to your brother and to the poor and needy in your land.”

Matthew 26:11 and John 12:8 “For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.”

Mark 14:7 “The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them whenever you want. But you will not always have Me.”

Psalm 94:6 “They kill the widow and the stranger; they murder the fatherless.”

Exodus 22:21 “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” Also see Exodus 23:9, Leviticus 19:33, Leviticus 19:34, Leviticus 25:35, Deuteronomy 1:16, Deuteronomy 10:19.

Notice this reoccurring directive, to take care of those either in need or different from you. Israel and Judah did not understand that this was part of their refinement, to separate themselves from other nations. Do we?

10:15 “Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it? As if a rod could wield itself against those who lift it up, or as if a staff could lift up, as if it were not wood!”

2 Timothy 2:20-21 “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor [special purpose] and some for dishonor [common purpose]. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:17 “…so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.”

We are tools in His hands, whether good or evil. Choose His Way and relish His work in you, through you, around you, and through others. We believers get the privilege to recognize His work and celebrate it.

Isaiah 11 covers Jesus’ first coming as the suffering Servant and his second advent as the conquering King with elements of His future reign.

13:10For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.” Also see Isaiah 34:4, Joel 2:31, Zephaniah 1:15, Matthew 24:29, Mark 13:24, Acts 2:20, Revelation 6:12, Revelation 6:13, Revelation 8:12.

14:12 The term “Lucifer” in some Bibles is a bad translation, thanks to Jerome. It should be “Shining One” helel (הֵילֵל), which is derived from halal (הָלַל) – to shine.

17:1 “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.” People into prophecy are watching both Israel and Damascus.

Isaiah 20 is the one of the symbolic “one-act plays” the Lord had some of His prophets perform. This one had Isaiah walking around naked and barefoot for three years. Poor guy… The lesson I get out of these is to be flexible in regards to the Lord’s Will and Purpose in our lives. I know that first hand.

– A whole bunch of countries got judgment proclaimed against them.

21:9 “Babylon is fallen, is fallen! And all the carved images of her gods He has broken to the ground.”

Revelation 14:8 Then a second angel followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who has made all the nations drink the wine of the passion of her immorality.”
Revelation 18:2 And he cried out in a mighty voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a lair for demons and a haunt for every unclean spirit, every unclean bird, and every detestable beast.”

22:12-13 “And in that day the Lord God of hosts called for weeping and for mourning, for baldness and for girding with sackcloth.” The shaving or cutting of hair was a sign of mourning, humility and starting over, also signaling the end of the Nazarite vow.

But instead, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating meat and drinking wine, ‘Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!’”

56:12 “Come,” one says, “I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; tomorrow will be as today, and much more abundant.”
1 Corinthians 15:32 If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!” Simply put, “We’re doomed anyways, let’s party!”

23:18 “[Tyre’s] gain and her pay will be set apart for the Lord; it will not be treasured nor laid up, for her gain will be for those who dwell before the Lord, to eat sufficiently, and for fine clothing.” Once again, the wealth of the unrighteous will be given to His people.

24:2 And it shall be:
As with the people, so with the priest;
As with the servant, so with his master;
As with the maid, so with her mistress;
As with the buyer, so with the seller;
As with the lender, so with the borrower;
As with the creditor, so with the debtor.”

In other words, everybody is going to suffer.

24:5 “The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” Daniel 7:25 “He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.”

24:23 “Then the moon will be disgraced and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem and before His elders, gloriously.”

Revelation 21:23 “The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.”
Revelation 22:5 “There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.” Amen.

26:6 “The foot shall tread it down— The feet of the poor and the steps of the needy.” Malachi 4:3 “You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” says the LORD of hosts.” A reward for those who walk in His ways—being a weapon in His hands.

26:21 “The earth will also disclose her blood [bloodshed], and will no more cover her slain.” Revelation 20:13 “The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them.”

27:6 “Those who come He shall cause to take root in Jacob; Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.”
Romans 11:13-20 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

28:9 “Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts?”

Deuteronomy 6:7 “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Also see Genesis 18:19, Deuteronomy 4:9, Deuteronomy 11:19, Psalm 71:17, Isaiah 38:19, Ephesians 6:4.

1 Corinthians 3:2 “I gave you milk, not meat, for you were not yet ready for meat. In fact, you are still not ready.”
1 Peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”
28:10 “For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.”

Matthew 26:26, Mark 14:22, Luke 22:19, 1 Corinthians 11:24 “This is My body [His Word, His Instructions].”

28:16-22 The cornerstone passage describes Jesus’ ministry and the results. For example, verse 19 describes the disciples in hiding. Verse 20, the disciples are not at peace (not comfortable, cannot rest). Verse 21, His resurrection.

28:23-29 is comparing learning from the Lord to cultivating black cumin.

29:9 “Blind yourselves and be blind!”

Matthew 15:14 “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” Also see Luke 6:39 and John 9:39.

Matthew 23:16 and Matthew 23:24 “Woe to you blind guides!”

29:13 “And their fear [reverence] toward Me is taught by the commandment of men.” This part of the famous passage gets overlooked. Simply put, the true fear of God has been watered down by man-made ideas, and Judah worshiped Him and other gods, trying to hedge their bets (gaining the most favor from the spirit realm).

29:18-19 “In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, And the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The humble also shall increase their joy in the LORD, And the poor among men shall rejoice In the Holy One of Israel.
Matthew 11:5The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” Literally and spiritually, amen.

30:10 “Who say to the seers, ‘Do not see,’ And to the prophets, ‘Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.’”

Romans 16:18 “For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.”
2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers.”

1 Kings 22:13 Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Please, let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement.” LOL! Uh, no.

30:26 “In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people and heals the stroke of their wound.” 19:22 “And the LORD will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the LORD, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.”

Hosea 6:1 “Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.”

Psalm 71:20You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again, And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.”

Psalm 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”
Deuteronomy 32:39 “See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can save anyone from My hand.”

30:32 “And in every place where the staff of punishment passes, which the LORD lays on him, it will be with tambourines and harps; and in battles of brandishing He will fight with it.”

2 Chronicles 20:21-22 “And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: ‘Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.’ Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”

Joshua 6:20 “So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.”

31:1 “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!” Those who trust in the world or society (Egypt), the created things (horses), man-made objects (chariots), and men themselves (horsemen) will be disappointed at these items failures.

32:3 “The eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will listen.” Those who are paying attention, will stay that way as long as they read His Word and seek the Spirit Most High. Also see 29:18, 35:5, and 42:16.

Matthew 24:4 and Mark 13:5 “Take heed [see that] that no one deceives you.” In modern-day vernacular, “Pay attention, so no one distracts you.” Influence + distraction = deception.

32:10 “You will be troubled, you complacent [comfortable] women.” Revelation 3:16 “So then, because you are lukewarm [comfortable], and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”

33:2 “Be their [our] arm [protection] every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.”

Psalm 91:7 “A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.”

Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”

33:3 “At the noise of the tumult the people shall flee.” Exodus 19:16 “Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.” Also see Exodus 20:18-19 and Revelation 4:5.

When You lift Yourself up, the nations shall be scattered.” Psalm 59:11 “Do not slay them, lest my people forget; Scatter them by Your power, And bring them down, O Lord our shield.” Also see Psalm 144:6, 17:13, 21:15, Jeremiah 25:30.

34:16 “Search from the book of the LORD, and read…” 30:8 “Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever…”

Jeremiah 30:2 “Thus speaks the LORD God of Israel, saying: ‘Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you.’”

Habakkuk 2:2 “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” So let it be written; so let it be done! Blessed be the Name of the Lord, for whatever proceeds from His Mouth will be fulfilled.

39:7 and 2 Kings 20:18 “And they shall take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.” Daniel 1:3 “Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles…” Yes, Daniel and his friend were made eunuchs in order to serve the King of Babylon.

40:4 “Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth.” Luke 3:5 “Every valley shall be filled and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough ways smooth.”

41:14 “Fear not, you worm Jacob…” LOL!

42:1-4 Jesus’ sacrifice benefits the Gentiles.

42:16 “I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.”

Luke 1:79 “To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Luke 3:5 “Every valley shall be filled and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough ways smooth.”

Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”

43:24 “You have bought Me no sweet cane with money, nor have you satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices; but you have burdened Me with your sins, you have wearied Me with your iniquities.” He gave them grace through their lack of honoring Him, but their sins—rebelling against Him with false worship of other gods—are an irritant to Him. What do we do when we have an irritant on our skin? Try to get rid of it!

44:6 “I am the First and I am the Last.” Also see 41:4, 48:12, Revelation 1:8, Revelation 1:17, Revelation 2:8, Revelation 22:13.

44:13-20 – A dude chops down a tree. With half, he makes an idol for worship. With the other half, he burns it for warmth and cooking. What good is that idol? LOL!

44:25 “Who frustrates the signs of the babblers and drives diviners mad; Who turns wise men backward and makes their knowledge foolishness.” LOL! That is why we should not mess with fortune tellers, palm readers, crystals, etc.

44:28 “Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd, and he shall perform all My pleasure.’” Cyrus wasn’t even born yet! Also see 45:1-3.

Jeremiah 27:6 “…Nebuchadnezzar… My servant…”

Proverbs 16:4 “The LORD has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.”

Romans 9:22What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction…” Anyone can be used of Yah; we believers get the privilege of recognizing His work to praise it.

Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 4 – Psalms to the Song of Solomon

Psalms
2:11 “Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.” Philippians 2:12 “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

2:12 “Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.”

3:7 “Break the teeth of the wicked.” Lamentations 3:16 “He has also broken my teeth with gravel, And covered me with ashes.” Teeth (bone) = horn (bone) = physical power or authority.

4:4 “Be angry, yet do not sin; on your bed, search your heart and be still. Selah.” Ephesians 4:26 “Be angry, and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath.”

5:9 “Their throat is an open sepulchre (tomb); They flatter with their tongue.” Romans 3:13 “Their throat is an open sepulchre (tomb); With their tongues they have practiced deceit.”

6:8 “You hate all workers of iniquity.” Matthew 7:23, Luke 13:27 “Depart from me, all that work iniquity.”

8:2 “Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength.” Matthew 21:16 “…and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” Jesus quoted from the Greek Septuagint (LXX), not the Masoretic Text.

11:3 “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Mark 10:26 “And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, ‘Who then can be saved?’”

– Psalm 16 is a rare cheerful one.

16:10 “For You will not leave my soul in Sheol [the grave], nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” Acts 13:35 “So also, He says in another Psalm: ‘You will not let Your Holy One see decay.’”

18:29 “For by You I can run against a troop. By my God I can leap over a wall.” Elijah experienced that power in 1 Kings 18:46.

19:7 “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” Sounds like Deuteronomy 4:6 “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”

19:9 “The fear of the LORD is clean [pure], enduring for ever.” Leviticus 11:44, Leviticus 11:45, Leviticus 19:2, Leviticus 20:7, 1 Peter 1:16 “Be holy, for I am holy.”

– “Set to the tune of ‘The Doe of the Dawn.’” Another missing psalm *sigh*

22:20 “Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog.” Philippians 3:2 “Watch out for those dogs, those workers of evil, those mutilators of the flesh!” Dog can also symbolizes Gentiles. Matthew 15:26 “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs [puppies].”

30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Oh, that’s where that comes from. 2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 1 Peter 5:10 “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”

30:7 “…You made my mountain to stand strong.” Mountain can symbolize a capital city (the City of David, where David had lived, was the seat of the king’s government) or established authority.

31:5 “Into Your hand I commit my spirit.” Luke 23:46, Acts 7:59

35:17 “Rescue my soul from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.” Psalm 22:21 “Save Me from the lion’s mouth and from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me.” Lion = Judah, family; oxen = leaders in Israel, government, military.

37:11 “But the meek shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5

48:14 “He will be our guide even unto death.” Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” Luke 16:22 “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom.”

55:17 “Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.” Daniel 6:10 “And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, [Daniel] knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.”

58:10 “He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.” No, I do not want to dance in the blood of my enemies.

68:4 “…by His name, Yah…” I believe this is the earliest use of the Father’s nickname.

68:23 “That your foot may crush them in blood…” No, no thank you. I’m good. Revelation 19:13 “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.”

69:6 “Let not those who seek You be confounded because of me, O God of Israel.” Oh, trust me, I’m not. My faith has never been dependent on humans.

71:20 “Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again.” Bad things happen to good people.

72:1 “A psalm of Solomon.” Oh really?

72:17 “All nations shall call Him blessed.” Bunches of passages about Gentiles (nations) coming to Yah.

Psalm 78, Asaph wrote about the history of Israel.

80:8 “You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it.” Egypt can symbolize the world. John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard.” Hosea 11:1 “When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son [Matthew 2:15].” Also, Abraham, Issac, and Jacob went to Egypt. Two were sent away with gifts because of their wives; Jacob and his family stayed until God prompted the Egyptians to drive the nation of Israel out their land.

80:10-13 “The hills were covered with its shadow,
And the mighty cedars with its boughs.
She sent out her boughs to the Sea,
And her branches to the River.
Why have You broken down her hedges,
So that all who pass by the way pluck her fruit?
The boar out of the woods uproots it,
And the wild beast of the field devours it.”

When I heard and read this, it reminded me of apostles, evangelists, and missionaries.

88:9 “Lord, I have called daily upon You. I have stretched out my hands to You.” Yes, raised hands are acceptable for prayer and worship, contrary to some people’s beliefs.

90:4 “For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.” 2 Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

90:10 “The days of our lives are 70 years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years…” Even back then, people expected to live between 70-80 years, if they got past childhood.

90:16 “Let Your work appear to Your servants, And Your glory to their children.” We are called to recognize the Lord’s work in our lives and show it to our children. The Creator, His many Names, is what He does.

95:9 “When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work.” Do you see the Father’s work? If you do, celebrate it, yet do not make the Lord prove His affection towards you.

96:1 “Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth.”
Psalm 33:3 “Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.”
Psalm 40:3 “He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God.”
Psalm 98:1 “Sing to the LORD a new song, for He has done marvelous things.”
Psalm 144:9 “I will sing to You a new song, O God.”
Psalm 149:1 “Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the assembly of saints.”

Anyone notice a theme here?

– Rock badger or coney is the rock hyrax.

What is the cup of salvation in Psalm 116:13?

118:17 “I… declare the works of the Lord.” Once again, we are to notice and praise the Father’s work in our lives.

119:20 “My soul breaks with longing for Your judgments at all times.” Keep asking for correction, guidance.

119:25 “My soul cleaves to the dust; revive me according to Your word.”

119:37 “Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way.” I think this whole section is about correction and guidance.

119:59 “I… turned my feet towards Your testimonies.” Feet = our walk towards or away from Him; in this case, these “feet” believe on the past works of God in his life and act like it.

119:83 “For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke…”

– I just noticed the repetition of the idea of “I obey You, Lord, now save me, so I can continue to worship You.” LOL!

119:113 “I hate the double-minded, But I love Your law.” James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 4:8 “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

119:131 “I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments.” John 6:55 “For My flesh [the Word] is food indeed, and My blood [His life, His soul] is drink indeed.”

146:8 “The LORD opens the eyes of the blind.” Matthew 11:5 and Luke 7:22 “The blind receive sight…”

147:10 “The Lord takes no pleasure in the legs [war, fight, effort] of a man.”

150:6 The last two Hebrew words in the last psalm: “Halleluyah! Halleluyah!” Amen.

Proverbs
1:25 “Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke…” Ask for, anticipate, and accept His correction.

– I wonder how much of Proverbs came from Bathsheba’s counsel? Or David?

3:3 “Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck [wear them, show them], Write them on the tablet of your heart [make them a part of you].”

Deuteronomy 6:8 “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.”

Deuteronomy 11:18 “Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.”

2 Corinthians 3:3 “It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”

4:23 “Keep [guard, protect] your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues [fountains] of life.”

John 7:38 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his belly [heart] will flow rivers of living water.’” We are His tools, His instruments, His conduits of His Will, Purpose, and Desire.

6:30-31 “People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house.” The Law of Restitution will be enforced during Christ, our King’s reign.

7:7 “And saw among the simple…” LOL!

– Adulterous woman = false religion or practice. Harlot = government supported false religion.

8:30 “Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him.” Behold, servants of the Most High, your future, watching Him create the new heavens and earth (Revelation 21:1, Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22, 2 Peter 3:13), celebrating every move He make as the seraphim around His throne do (Isaiah 6:2-3, Revelation 4:8).

9:4 “Whoever is simple, turn in here.” LOL! Mark 7:18 “Are you so dull?” I don’t care for the NIV, but this translation is spot-on accurate.

11:26 “The people will curse him who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.” This reminds me of Joseph, who used grain to bankrupt the Egyptians, placing them all under Pharaoh’s rule.

11:28 “He who trusts in his riches will fall [die]…” Luke 12:20 “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’”

12:1 “But he who hates correction is stupid.” LOL! Ba’ar, the Hebrew word translated “stupid’ also means “burned up” and “consumed/destroyed.” Burnt brain?

13:22 “May the wealth of the wicked pass to the hands of the righteous.” Yes, I am guilty of praying this.

13:23 “Much food is in the fallow ground of the poor, And for lack of justice there is waste.” Food waste is nothing new.

16:4 Some Bibles use the phrase “for Himself,” others use “for His purposes” or “for its purpose.” The Hebrew word, maaneh (מַעֲנֶה) means “an answer.” Although I favor the Bibles that have used the Received Text (Textus Receptus), they got this one wrong—“purpose” is more accurate, seeing as Hebrew is a dynamic (motion-oriented) language. Ultimately, we need to seek Him for the clarification we desire and wait for the answer.

16:5 “Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.” Pride (ego unchecked) is the sin the Father hates the most; ego (self alone) was/is the fruit (result) of the tree (provision) of the knowledge of good (His function/order) and evil (dysfunction/disorder/good twisted). Eating in Scripture is the symbol of taking in knowledge.

16:17 “The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; he who keeps his way preserves his soul.” Isaiah 35:8 “A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.” The name “Israel” means “the (working at being) upright of God.”

26:2 “…a curse without cause shall not alight.” Numbers 23:8 [Baalam said], “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the LORD has not denounced?” Deuteronomy 23:5 Yet the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam, and the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you. 2 Samuel 16:12 [David said, while enduring Shimei’s cursing], “Perhaps the LORD will see my affliction and repay me with good for the cursing I receive today.”

Stay clean, repent quickly, and ask Him for correction to avoid ill will, from any adversary, to land on us. Bless any who harm us or others in any way in return.

26:11 “As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly.” 2 Peter 2:22 “But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: ‘A dog returns to his own vomit,’ and, ‘a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.’”

26:19 “Is the man who deceives his neighbor, and says, ‘I was only joking!’” The Father appreciates clever humor, especially to teach a lesson, not crass crap or pranks.

26:25 “When he speaks kindly, do not believe him, For there are seven abominations in his heart.”

6:16-19 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

26:27 and Ecclesiastes 10:8 “Whoever digs a pit will fall into it.”

Matthew 15:14 “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

And he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him.” Wile E. Coyote has had that happen a few times.

28:5 “…those who seek the Lord, understand all.” I have this theory: that studying Scripture, applying it, and seeing His word played out in life makes one smarter.

28:8 “One who increases his possessions by usury and extortion gathers it for him who will pity the poor.” Same as 13:22.

29:3 “Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice, but a companion of harlots wastes his wealth.” Sounds like the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

Ecclesiastes
– I love this book. It is a great reality check for the soul.

5:15 “As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return, to go as he came; And he shall take nothing from his labor Which he may carry away in his hand.” Sound like Job 1:21.

7:20 “For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.” Romans 3:23 “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…”

12:6Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed…” That is symbolic of our lives connected to Father Yah, even some pagans understand this. The scarlet cord of Rahab is our salvation. Everything comes from Him; therefore everything will return to Him—blessed be the Name of the Lord. Amen.

12:7 “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was [Genesis 3:19], and the spirit will return to God Who gave it.”

3:21 “Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth?”

Job 34:14-15 If He should set His heart on it,
If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath,
All flesh would perish together,
And man would return to dust.

Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit. [Psalm 31:5]’” Having said this, He breathed His last.

Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

Song of Solomon
6:8 “There are sixty queens and eighty concubines, and virgins without number.” So, this was very early in Solomon’s reign? Heh, heh.

Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 3 – Nehemiah, Esther, and Job

Nehemiah
– The wealthy people did not help in the rebuilding by physical labor. Why mention that?

3:12 “He and his daughters made repairs.”

– I love that Nehemiah had spiritual discernment and recognized when either God or the enemies were at work.

– The written record of those who had return within Levi still kept track of the positions they were born to do.

– They consulted the ummin and thummin to decide if a family was valid to serve in the priesthood. This and the linen ephod (sleeveless priestly garment).

– The people asked Ezra to read Torah to them.

– Ezra stood on a platform above the people. So that is where that practice started.

– When Ezra opened the scroll, the people stood up. The Jews still do that today.

– “…for all the people wept when they heard the words of Torah.”

– “…the joy of the Lord is our strength.”

– “From the days of Joshua until this time, the children of Israel did not [celebrate Succoth].” There is a lot they didn’t do after Joshua passed.

– They should have separated from the foreigners back in Babylon, but some were with foreigners in Judah, too.

– They mourned over their fathers’ sins and their own sins.

– They struggled to keep the Sabbath yet again.

– Nehemiah cracked down hard on everybody. even beating people up because their children spoke a foreign language. Dude was not perfect.

Esther
– The comments over Vashti’s disobedience causing the women to rebel against their husbands demonstrates the importance of influence. Do we truly understand this today?

– Mordecai’s concern for her welfare is touching.

– Xerxes had a second gathering of virgins. Why?

– Haman was going to pay the king for the permission to kill the Jews, coupled with puffing the king up. Ego is a monster.

– Having an evil obsession is sure way to ruin.

– I think this book exists to get us to recognize and practice seeing God at work.

– Haman forced to honor Mordecai, LOL! Yes, Father Yah has a sense of humor, but also reminds us through this Who is in control.

– Esther humbled herself as she made her request to save herself and her people.

– The two different official declarations forced people to choose to do the right thing.

– Even Mordecai had a moment in which he had to submit to Esther’s directions.

– Some foreigners converted because of the fear of the Jews. When needed, Our King will place His fear upon our enemies.

– “…the day in which the Jews had rest from their enemies.” Rest = His working Will and our trust in it.

– Hearing about another missing book make me sad.

Job
– The adversary does some of God’s dirty work; curses (negative reactions to an agreement), demons/evil spirits, and humans make up the rest.

– Someone pointed out to me how little the adversary is in Scripture. This mean the onus is on us.

– “[In distress], Job… fell to the ground and worshiped.” We are supposed to do this!

– God to the adversary, “You incited me against him.” Ay? The King of Creation used reverse psychology on the adversary. This is amusing…

– Job waxing poetic on hating his life at the moment.

3:14 “…kings and rulers of the earth, who built ruins for themselves.” I just realized they had those even back then, LOL!

– Were Job’s friends actually jealous of the man’s former prosperity/reputation and found an opportunity to catch him faltering?

– I hate the way chapters are divided, making it look like its a separate thought. My pastor said it is because they numbered the whole Bible by the length of the scrolls.

– Eliphaz’s spirit visitor was not a good one.

– Listening to these friends, one will have to have some serious discernment, so much mixture in what they say. Use Scripture to verify the truth.

6:10 “…though in anguish, I will exalt.” Once again, we are to praise the Lord even over the evil in our lives, for everything is for our good, although we may not see it yet.

7:1718 “What is man, that You should exalt him, That You should set Your heart on him, That You should visit him every morning, And test him every moment?” Job’s complaint remind me of David’s (Psalm 8:4, Psalm 144:3, Hebrews 2:6). I am sure David knew the book/story well.

9:17 “For He crushes me with a tempest, and multiplies my wounds without cause.” This reminds me of Naomi’s complaint, “Call me Mara [bitter], for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.” We usually never notice the cause (the “why did this happen”) until we seek the Lord in earnest. May He reward those who do. Amen.

10:8 “Your hands fashioned and made me altogether, And would You destroy me?” A personal touch indeed.

13:4 “But you forgers of lies, you are all worthless physicians.” Job getting nasty here. I still contend his so-called friends found an opportunity to down him.

13:15 “Though He slay me, yet I will trust Him.” Ah, that is where that comes from. More evidence that we are, in His Name, to celebrate and embrace trials.

13:23 “How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgression and my sin.” We can ask this.

14:4 “Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!” but God can and did—His Son in the flesh.

19:17b “And I am repulsive to the children of my own body.” I thought they had died? Is he speaking of children from slaves (Ew) or using hyperbole? I reckon the latter.

– “I know that my Redeemer lives. … I will see Him in the flesh.” Amen.

– “And what prosperity will we have if we pray to Him?” A great description of the wealthy who ignore God.

– Job is too far on the negative side of life.

– Eliphaz, ugh, shut up, looking for evil when there is none.

22:16 “Who were cut down before their time, Whose foundations were swept away by a flood [river]?” The flood of Noah or a regular one?

23:10 “When He has tested me, I shall go forth as gold.” Job understands testing and trials, but presumes it is for the wicked only, like his friends do.

– “They spend the night naked, for they have no covering against the cold.” Can you imagine, being so poverty-stricken, that you don’t own a stitch of clothes?

27:1112 “I will teach you about the hand of God. What is with the Almighty I will not conceal. Surely all of you have seen it? Why then do you behave with complete nonsense?” Job assumes they know personally the works (hand) of God, so their accusations against him are unfounded. This means we also should be able to see God at work in our lives.

– Job understands Ecclesiastes 1:18 “For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.”

– “For behold, the fear of the Lord. That is wisdom.” If you understand Who and What Yah is, you will fear Him, be in awe of Him, respect His Will, and obey.

– “No mention shall be made of coral or quartz, For the price of wisdom is above rubies.” Reminds me of Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.”

– “…when the friendly counsel of God was over my tent.” Now, He dwells in tents not made with human hands [John 14:23, Acts 7:48, Ephesians 3:17, Ephesians 2:22, Romans 8:9, 1 Peter 2:5] and wants to be friends with us [Matthew 12:50, John 15:1415] as He did with Moses [Exodus 33:11, Numbers 12:8, Deuteronomy 34:10].

36:27-29 “For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man.” Before the flood, there was no rain, for a mist came through the ground and watered everything. “…on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” So, this story takes place after Noah’s flood.

38:4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.” A mere thought in your mind, O Infinite One.

38:5-6 “Who determined [the Earth’s] measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone?” sounds like Proverbs 8:29 and Isaiah 40:12.

– “…when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.” The angels.

– God describes His perfect Order in function, how His Order keeps us live and moving.

– He controls man, too, according to His Will (instruction) and Purpose (His reason for creation).

– The Father likes His creation, even the large beasts.

– Leviathan sneezes (or snorts) light? LOL!

– Eliphaz and the other two had to set up altars and sacrifices to redeem themselves from Yah’s wrath, to open the way for Job to pray over them as a priest (representative or ambassador) to the Most High Elohim.

– Everyone close to Job recognized the Lord’s work upon him, comforted him, and even gifted him with money. Do we honor the living touched by God today? Do we celebrate His Work in, around, and through our lives and others?
