– 23:33 “So when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying, ‘What is the oracle [burden] of the Lord?’ you shall then say to them, ‘What oracle [burden]?’ I will even forsake you,” says the Lord.
The Hebrew word massa’ (מַשָּׂא), mostly translated burden, load, or tribute, is derived from the verb nasa’ (נָשָׂא) meaning to lift, carry, take. The KJV and the BSB got this one right, keeping it burden, because having to declare punitive outcomes for His people breaking covenant with Him is a burden for Our merciful God.
– Jeremiah 24 – The Sign of Two Baskets of Figs. This reminds me of Jesus cursing the fig tree (Matthew 21:12-22, Mark 11:12-25), which, I believe, symbolizes Jerusalem and the Temple.
24:7 “Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” Also see Psalm 51:10, Ezekiel 11:19, Ezekiel 36:26, Ezekiel 18:3, 2 Corinthians 3:3, Deuteronomy 30:6, 2 Chronicles 30:12.
– 25:9 and 27:7 “…Nebuchadnezzar…My servant…” Anyone, believer or not, can be used of Yah. Pay attention and know the works of Elohim.
– 25:33 “They shall not be lamented, or gathered, or buried; they shall become refuse [dung, offal] on the ground.” See 8:2, 9:22, 16:4, Psalm 53:5, Psalm 79:3, Psalm 83:10, Isaiah 5:25, Isaiah 34:3, 2 Kings 9:37, 2 Kings 23:5.
Matthew 24:28 and Luke 17:37 “For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles [vultures] will be gathered together.” Also see Job 39:30, Ezekiel 39:17, Habakkuk 1:8.
– 26:20-24 Urijah prophesied as Jeremiah did, but when his life was threatened, he escaped to Egypt [big mistake, we are not to trust Egypt (the world, the physical)]. He was caught and dragged back to the king, who slew the prophet with a sword. Jeremiah stayed under the protection of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, a royal scribe. This incident reminds me of the prophet who disobeyed the Lord by believing another prophet’s words without checking with the Lord and was mauled to death by a lion (1 Kings 13). We have to practice seeking the Lord in everything, no matter how small.
– The result of the false prophet Hananiah’s behavior (28) is similar to Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11)—dying from a lie.
– Jeremiah’s prophecies in a nutshell: y’all did wrong on so many levels that the homeland is polluted; you will either die or go to Babylon; quit lying on Me; y’all couldn’t even keep the Shabbots; your enemies will be punished for punishing you too much; you will be restored to the land many years later (after most of your rebellious generation dies off as your ancestors in the wilderness did).
– Chapter 29 – Jeremiah’s Letter to the Exiles
Daniel 9:2 “…in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the LORD through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.”
Ezra 1:1 “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying…”
– 31:15 and Matthew 2:18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.” Ramah was a town in the land allotted to Benjamin, who was Rachel’s younger son. Genesis 30:1 Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to [demanded] Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!” Not to mention Benjamin was nearly wiped out for not obeying Torah concerning someone’s death (Judges 20-21).
– 31:19 “Surely, after my turning [back], I repented;
And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh;
I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated,
Because I bore the reproach of my youth.”
Repentance involved humility (recognizing one’s wrongdoing) and accepting instruction, not just an apology.
– 31:22 “How long will you gad about, O you backsliding daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing in the earth—A woman shall encompass [embrace, protect] a man.” As soon as I thought, “I need to pray for clarification,” the words “pray for” popped into my head. Amen.
– 31:31-38 – The New Covenant we are grafted into (Romans 11:11-24).
– 31:35-37 Israel will remain a nation (by His hand) until time and His current Order ends. See Revelation 21:1, Revelation 6:14, Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22, 2 Peter 3:10, 2 Peter 3:13.
– 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh.”
Numbers 16:22 “O God [El], the God of the spirits of all flesh…”
Numbers 27:16 “…the Lord [YHWH], the God of the spirits of all flesh…”
“Is there anything too hard for Me?” See Matthew 19:26, 32:17, Genesis 18:14, Numbers 11:23, 2 Kings 1:3, 2 Kings 1:16, 2 Kings 3:18, Isaiah 50:2, Isaiah 59:1, Daniel 3, Daniel 6:22, Luke 1:37.
– 34:17 “Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty [from slavery], every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the Lord—‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.’”
The Father of All wants willing servants, not slaves.
Are you holding something over someone’s head? Forgive, let go, so you and that person will be free from any negative repercussions.
– 34:18 “And I will give the men who have transgressed My covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before Me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between the parts of it…”
A similar covenant was cut in Genesis 15, when Abraham cut the animals in two and the Father and the Son passed between the cut parts but not Abraham. The Father and the Son would fulfill all covenants established between Abraham’s descendants—natural and adopted—and Yah Himself.
– 35:19 “Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack a man to stand before Me forever.” Rechabites may still exists today in modern-day Yemen.
– Jeremiah gets accused of defecting to the Chaldeans, and then the princes (leaders) whine to the king about Jeremiah’s prophecies demoralizing their military and people. I am going to guess very few cared about the covenant and justified its neglect by seeking either an advantage in manipulating the spirit realm in their favor, or the debauched entertainment demonic worship demanded.
– 38:23 “And you [Zedekiah] shall cause this city to be burned with fire.” No pressure, LOL! Even in his fear, the king still would not take a chance that Jeremiah was right or seek the Lord himself.
– It took Nebuchadnezzar 18 months to penetrate Jerusalem and left the land to the poor.
– The Lord spared the life of Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, who rescued Jeremiah out of the pit of mud, for he trusted the Lord of All.
– Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard of Babylon, knew of Jeremiah’s prophesies and declared the pronouncements had come to pass, giving full credit to the El of the Israelites. He had tell Jeremiah twice to get lost, LOL!
– When Gedaliah became governor by Nebuchadnezzar’s hand, the Jews in Moab, Edom, and Ammon came to help the remnant in Judah to havest.
– Johanan told Gedaliah twice there was a plot to kill him, even offered to kill Ishmael for him. Gedaliah rejected that idea. Unfortunately, Jonanan was right, and Ishmael with 10 men killed Gedaliah and every Jew in the area of the murder. Ishmael also captured the Jew in Mizpah and marched them towards Ammon. Jonanan learned of it and rescued the people, but Ishmael had escaped with 8 men to Ammon. Lesson: Check with the Lord to see what to do with such a serious allegation.
– 41:9 “Now the pit into which Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had slain, because of Gedaliah, was the same one Asa the king [of Judah] had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with the slain.” Why was this mentioned?
– 41:10-18 This part reminds me of David and his men freeing their families and possessions from the Amalekites (1 Samuel 30). David’s situation felt like a test from the Lord; this one, centuries later, it gives off the vibe of being the opposite of David’s trust in the Lord. I will set it aside in the long list of future revelations.
– The people still did not trust the word of the Lord from Jeremiah even after the prophecies had come true. The fear of man can be stronger than the fear of God when you submit to the flesh. Please, Father Yah, help us through Your Son and Spirit to avoid not trusting You, Your Will and Purpose.
– 42:20 “For you were hypocrites [led astray] in your hearts when you sent me to the Lord your God, saying, ‘Pray for us to the Lord our God, and according to all that the Lord your God says, so declare to us and we will do it.’”
Matthew 23:13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites [actors]! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.”
Matthew 23:15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.”
– They dragged Jeremiah and Baruch, along with the survivors, to Egypt. Why not leave those two behind?
– The people openly said they would continue their idolatry, despite Jeremiah’s prophecies and warnings. See Exodus 32:9, Exodus 33:3, Exodus 33:5, Exodus 34:9, Numbers 14:11, Deuteronomy 9:13, Deuteronomy 31:27, 2 Kings 17:14, Isaiah 48:4, Acts 7:51, Hebrews 3:16.
– 44:29–30 “‘And this shall be a sign to you,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that My words will surely stand against you for adversity.’”
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, his enemy who sought his life.’”
In modern vernacular: “Since y’all rejected my warning, I will give a sign that I am serious about what will befall y’all in Egypt: Pharaoh will die. Remember, I pronounced and fulfilled Zedekiah’s defeat the same way.”
– Parts of this book are out of chronological order.
– 47:6–7 “O you sword of the Lord,
How long until you are quiet?
Put yourself up into your scabbard,
Rest and be still!
How can it be quiet,
Seeing the Lord has given it a charge
Against Ashkelon and against the seashore?
There He has appointed it.”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Revelation 1:16 “He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.”
Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Psalm 45:3 “Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O Mighty One, With Your glory and Your majesty.”
Isaiah 49:2 “And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.”
Also see Psalm 149:6, Revelation 2:12, Revelation 2:16, Leviticus 26:25, Isaiah 34:6, Isaiah 66:16, Hosea 6:5.
– 48:10 “Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.”
Matthew 21:28-32 – The Parable of the Two Sons
Matthew 23:3 “Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.
Psalm 50:16 But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, or take My covenant in your mouth?”
Judges 5:23 “Curse Meroz,” said the Angel of the Lord, “Curse its inhabitants bitterly, Because they did not come to the help of the Lord, to the help of the Lord against the mighty.”
Judges 21:5 The children of Israel said, “Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who did not come up with the assembly to the Lord?” For they had made a great oath concerning anyone who had not come up to the Lord at Mizpah, saying, “He shall surely be put to death.”
– 48:25 “The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken,” says the Lord. Horn = strength, authority, power, influence; arm = military might, power in action.
– 48:30 “I know [Moab’s] wrath,” says the Lord, “But it is not right. His lies [boasts] have made nothing right.”
Isaiah 16:6 “We have heard of the pride of Moab—he is very proud—of his haughtiness and his pride and his wrath; but his lies shall not be so.”
Amos 2:1 Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
The last verse is the one used against cremation. It was an insult to the rulers, people, and the idols Edom had worshiped. The Father does not like dead bodies desecrated, whether people or rulers.
– 48:31-32 The Father said He would wail, weep, cry, and mourn over Moab’s judgment.
Ezekiel 18:23 “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord GOD, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?
Ezekiel 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!”
Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them: “As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?”
2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Also see 48:36, 48:38, Isaiah 15:5, Isaiah 16:7, Isaiah 16:11.
– 48:35 “Moreover,” says the Lord, “I will cause to cease in Moab the one who offers sacrifices in the high places and burns incense to his gods.”
Genesis 2:17 “…for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…”
Ezekiel 18:4 “The soul who sins shall die.”
Everyone will be held accountable to their sins.
– 48:36 “…therefore the riches they have acquired have perished.” Luke 12:13-21 – The Parable of the Rich Fool, Matthew 6:19-21 – Lay Up Treasures in Heaven
– 48:38 “For I have broken Moab like a vessel in which is no pleasure,” says the Lord.
2 Timothy 2:21 “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from [these sins], he will be a vessel [instrument, tool] for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
– 48:47 “Yet I will bring back the captives of Moab in the latter days,” says the Lord.
– 49:6 “But afterward I will bring back The captives of the people of Ammon,” says the Lord.
– 49:39 “…in the latter days, I will bring back the captives of Elam [Iran],” says the Lord.
– 12:15 “Then it shall be, after I have plucked [the neighboring countries] out, that I will return and have compassion on them and bring them back, everyone to his heritage and everyone to his land.”
Isaiah 19:18-25 – Egypt, Assyria, and Israel Blessed Together
Isaiah 27:13 “So it shall be in that day: The great trumpet will be blown. They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria, and they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.”
– 50:6 “My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray. They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting place.”
– 50:17 “Israel is like scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; now at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”
There are so many references to people being like sheep. My favorites are Psalm 23, Matthew 9:36, Matthew 10:6, John 10:14, John 10:27.
– Most of Chapters 50 and 51 describes Babylon’s judgment due to being too harsh on Israel, another example of dark humor on display. This also foreshadow the worldwide Babylon systemic collapse in the book of Revelation.
– 51:8 “Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed. Wail for her! Take balm for her pain; perhaps she may be healed.”
– 51:37 “Babylon shall become a heap, a dwelling place for jackals, an astonishment and a hissing, without an inhabitant.”
– 51:44 “I will punish Bel in Babylon, And I will bring out of his mouth what he has swallowed; And the nations shall not stream to him anymore. Yes, the wall of Babylon shall fall.”
Revelation 14:8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!”
Isaiah 21:9 “And look, here comes a chariot of men with a pair of horsemen!” Then he answered and said, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen! And all the carved images of her gods He has broken to the ground.”
– Babylon took the holy tools, except for the Ark of the Covenant, the Mercy Seat, and the two Altars. What had happened to those items? The Kingdom of Northern Israel did some of that during Amaziah’s reign (2 Kings 14:13-14). Egypt had a turn during Rehoboam’s reign (1 Kings 14:25-26). I want to contrast these with the 3 kings of Judah, Joash (2 Kings 12:18 – successful), Ahaz (2 Kings 16:7-9, 2 Chronicles 28:21 – partially successful) and Hezekiah (2 Kings 18:15-17 – failure), giving an advancing enemy items from the Temple. This pillaging happened again in 70 AD by the Romans with the second Temple. That makes 7 times articles were stolen from the Temple.
Lamentations
– I think this book is far more depressing than Ecclesiastes. Ecclesiastes at least has a bunch of useful information.
– 2:8 “He has stretched out a line… He has not withdrawn His hand from destroying.”
Amos 7:7-8 Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?”
And I said, “A plumb line.”
Then the Lord said: “Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore.”
2 Kings 21:13 “And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.”
Isaiah 28:17 “Also I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plummet [weight of the plumb line]; The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place.”
Isaiah 34:11 “But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it, Also the owl and the raven shall dwell in it. And He shall stretch out over it the line of confusion and the stones of emptiness.”
Zechariah 4:10 “For these seven rejoice to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel [Jesus’ ancestor]. They are the eyes of the Lord, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.”
– 3:8 “Even when I cry and shout, He shuts out my prayer.” Who cannot relate to this? This is when patience (a test of faith) has to be exercise, even during times of trouble.
– 3:21-42 Jeremiah encourages himself in the Lord, asks us all to be patient and consider our ways.
– 3:22-23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” He keeps us alive, and every day is a new beginning.
Zephaniah 3:5 “Every morning He brings His justice to light; He never fails…”
Job 7:18 “That You should visit him every morning, and test him every moment?”
Jeremiah 21:12 O house of David! Thus says the LORD: “Execute judgment in the morning; and deliver him who is plundered out of the hand of the oppressor, lest My fury go forth like fire and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.”
– 3:30 “Let him give his cheek to the one who strikes him, and be full of reproach.”
Matthew 5:39 and Luke 6:29 “But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.”
– 4:9 “Those slain by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger…” No kidding, starvation is a horrible way to die.
– 5:7 “Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities.”
Leviticus 26:40 “But if they will confess their iniquity and that of their fathers in the unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me…”
Also see Jeremiah 3:25, Jeremiah 14:20, Jeremiah 16:12, Jeremiah 31:29, Ezekiel 18:2. People can debate this all they want. As for me, I have repented of any generational sins. I will not take any chances.
– 5:14 “And the young men from their music.” Not much has changed today. The young have always been into entertainment.
– 5:22 “Unless You have utterly rejected us, and are very angry with us!” LOL! Dark humor right here.
Three-Month Bible Reading Notes – Part 7 – Ezekiel, Section 1
– 1:4 “Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.”

Exodus 14:24–25 “Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians. And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, ‘Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.’”
1 Kings 19:11–12 “Then He said, ‘Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.’ And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.”
2 Kings 2:11-12 “Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, ‘My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!’”
2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Daniel 10:6 “His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude.” Also see Revelation 2:18 and 40:3.
Leviticus 11:3 “Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud—that you may eat.” Also see Leviticus 11:26 and Deuteronomy 14:6. There is something symbolic here, not sure what.

Exodus 25:18-20 “And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover.”
Exodus 37:7-8 “He made two cherubim of beaten gold; he made them of one piece at the two ends of the mercy seat: one cherub at one end on this side, and the other cherub at the other end on that side. He made the cherubim at the two ends of one piece with the mercy seat.”
2 Chronicles 3:11–12 “The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits in overall length: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub; one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing also was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.
– 1:10 “As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.”
– 10:14 “Each of the cherubim had four faces: the first face was that of a cherub, the second that of a man, the third that of a lion, and the fourth that of an eagle.”
Revelation 4:7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second like a calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.

– 1:26-28 “And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.”

Deuteronomy 33:26 “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun [Israel], Who rides the heavens to help you, and in His excellency on the clouds.”
Revelation 4:3 “And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius [carnelian] stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.”
– 2:2 “Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me.”
– 3:24 “Then the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and spoke with me and said to me: “Go, shut yourself inside your house.”
Daniel 8:18 Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched me, and stood me upright.
Daniel 10:10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands.
Revelation 1:17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.”
Numbers 11:25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to [Moses], and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again.
– “…whether they hear or whether they refuse…” is said twice in this chapter, 2:5, 2:7 and once in 3:11. When something is mentioned twice or more, this demonstrates its importance. In this case, prophets warned the people repeatedly about the consequences of their behavior and chose not to correct themselves. See Luke 11:49, 2 Chronicles 24:19, 2 Chronicles 33:10, 2 Chronicles 36:15, Jeremiah 7:13, Jeremiah 7:25, Jeremiah 11:7, Jeremiah 25:3, Jeremiah 25:4, Jeremiah 26:5, Jeremiah 29:19. They could never say they had lacked knowledge… and neither can we.
Job 33:14 “For God may speak in one way, or [and] in another, Yet man does not perceive it.”
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me. Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
Isaiah 5:13 Therefore my people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
– 2:5 and 33:33 “…they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
Deuteronomy 18:22 “…when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.”
1 Kings 22:28 But Micaiah said, “If you [Ahab] ever return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.”
Jeremiah 28:9 “As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent.”
– 2:6 “And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”
Revelation 9:3 “Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”
Revelation 9:5 “And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man.”
Revelation 9:10 They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.
2 Chronicles 10:14 and 1 Kings 12:11 “…and [Rehoboam] spoke to them according to the advice of the young men, saying, ‘My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it; my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scourges [scorpions]!’”
Deuteronomy 8:15 “…Who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; Who brought water for you out of the flinty rock…”
Numbers 21:6 “So the Lord sent fiery [venomous] serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.”
Psalm 58:4 [The wicked’s] poison [venom, wrath] is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear…”
Matthew 3:7 and Luke 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”
Also see Deuteronomy 32:33, Psalm 91:13, Psalm 140:3, Ecclesiastes 10:11, Matthew 12:34, Matthew 23:33, Mark 16:18, Luke 10:19, Acts 28:3-6, Romans 3:13.
– 3:6 “…not to many people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you.”
Jonah 3:5 “So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.”
Matthew 12:41 and Luke 11:32 “The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.”
Matthew 12:42 “The queen of the South [Sheba] will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.”
Acts 28:28 “Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!”
Pharaoh had listened to Joseph and, by receiving the wisdom from the Creator, made the latter second in command over Egypt. Nebuchadnezzar had recognized Daniel’s God as the true God and gave Him honor.
– 3:8 “Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads.” Tons of passages about the Lord strengthening us when the time is right.
– 3:20a Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die.”
– 18:24 “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.”
– 3:20b “Because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.”
Habakkuk 2:1 “I will stand my watch and set myself on the tower, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.”
– 4:14 So I said, “Ah, Lord God! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now…” Acts 10:14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
– It is like they expected God to act like the false gods, to leave the people alone after being appeased and/or bless them by minor service to Him without true obedience from the heart.
– No miracles for Ezekiel, just words, acts, and visions, but he did predict the final siege of Jerusalem.
– 7:10 “Behold, the day! Behold, it has come! Doom has gone out. The rod has blossomed. Pride has budded.”
Aaron’s rod had budded (Numbers 17:8, Hebrews 9:4), marking him (the tribe of Levi, the priest class) and Moses as the spiritual and governmental leaders, respectively. In the time of Ezekiel, the people are ruled by pride and broke covenant. Therefore, judgment (correction) came and nothing stopped it. Also see Psalm 89:32, Isaiah 10:5, Job 9:34, Job 21:9, Proverbs 19:25, Proverbs 20:30, Proverbs 22:15, Proverbs 27:6.
– 7:19 “They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be like refuse; Their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord; They will not satisfy their souls, nor fill their stomachs, because it became their stumbling block of iniquity.”
I thought the highlighted part was from Revelation until recently.
Lamentations 4:1 “How the gold has become dim! How changed the fine gold! The stones of the sanctuary are scattered at the head of every street.”
Zephaniah 1:18 “Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy, for He will make speedy riddance of all those who dwell in the land.”
Isaiah 2:20 “In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which they made, each for himself to worship, to the moles and bats…”
Isaiah 30:22 “You will also defile the covering of your images of silver, and the ornament of your molded images of gold. You will throw them away as an unclean thing; you will say to them, ‘Get away!’”
Proverbs 11:4 “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.”
Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money].”
– 7:24 “Therefore I will bring the worst of the Gentiles, and they will possess their houses…”
Deuteronomy 6:10-11 “So it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, houses full of all good things, which you did not fill…” A curse is a blessing reversed under a covenant. Also see Deuteronomy 19:1, Joshua 24:13, Nehemiah 9:25, Psalm 78:55, Psalm 105:44.
– 7:25 “Destruction comes. They will seek peace, but there shall be none.”
– 13:10 “Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace—”
– 13:16 “…that is, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’” says the Lord God.
1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
Also see Isaiah 48:22, Isaiah 57:21, Jeremiah 6:14, Jeremiah 8:11, Jeremiah 14:13, Jeremiah 23:17.
– 8:1 “…as I was sitting in my house with the elders of Judah sitting before me, that the hand of the Lord God fell upon me there.” Ezekiel had a vision right in front of people. I wonder what they had saw and thought.
– 8:6 Furthermore He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.”
– 5:11 “Therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; My eye will not spare, nor will I have any pity.”
I have a theory. Since the Father restricts Himself on how He will operate with us, which is dependent upon our behavior towards His holiness, I believe the billions upon the Earth right now who do not know Him are a hindrance to His full working (glory), compared to ancient times. The formation of the institutional church system in 313, removing the legal spiritual authority from the homes of believers, also played a role in the scant amount of Our Father’s supernatural works today.
– The title the Lord God [Adonay YHWH (אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִה֒)] is used mostly in Ezekiel, compared to other books.
– The two worst sins, according to what I see in Scripture, are worshiping other beings and treating the helpless badly.
– 8:10 “So I went in and saw, and there—every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed all around on the [Temple] walls.” Archaeologists have found evidence of Israel and Judah worshiping other beings.
– 8:16 “So He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.” One of the reasons Yah had them enter the Tabernacle/Temple from the east was to discourage sun worship. What an insult!
– 8:17 “…Indeed they put the branch to their nose.” Bishop K. C. Pillai compared this practice to people wearing crosses to either ward off evil or maintain God’s favor.
– 9:3–4 Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, where it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn at his side; and the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”
Plenty of Scriptures about being mark by Yah: John 3:33, John 6:27, Romans 4:11 (Genesis 17:10), 2 Corinthians 1:22, Galatians 6:17, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Timothy 2:19, Revelation 7:3, Revelation 9:4, Revelation 3:12, Revelation 14:1, Revelation 22:4.
